Turning to sleet in Crawley area too. If you look at my radar grab, you can clearly see that is because of the lower dewpoints, amongst other dynamics.

According to xcweather, Gatwick has a temp of 1c and a DP of -1c, that is marginal for some snow flakes if that DP doesn't go up.

Well if they do stay that way, then there is more hope of further snow before turning back to rain, more especially with elevation, of course.

Could be sleet in London right now according to the NW radar so there appears to be some bits and pieces of precipitation ahead of the front.

Are you sure the dew point reading is correct? Can't be higher than the actual temperature!

Incorrect, was a mis-type, dewpoint is 2c, temperature is 2.8c now.

Metoffice reporting -1 at our nearest official site (Andrewsfield between here and Braintree). Clear and cold following a cracking sunny day with ground frost persisting where the sun didn't get on it.

Been a lovely winter weekend here. Car wouldn't start, house is freezing, but beautiful all the same. The temp droppped really quickly tonight and it was around 0c at 5.30pm. All this talk of sleet sent me rushing to the door (oh how desperate I am) for a quick lamppost check just in case, but dry here. Temp now rising quickly, 2.7 with a dp of 1.8 so doubt anything wintery will fall.

Cloud has rolled in here, definitely not as cold, but still wondering if we will get a snowflake or 2?

Made the mistake of a glass or 2 of red on a Sunday evening, one of those things that seems a good idea at the time but, later, not so hot!

In my plan to live and learn I am definitely doing one of the two options....
