Never had a snowless winter here, not even once, so no chance. Already seen snow falling, and had a dusting in October.

Surprisingly it's still dry here but wind is gusting up.

Seems to be that special sort of rain that looks awful on radar but only a few spots hit ground - so far.

Had some rather heavy rain, still raining now, quite surprised to be honest, also quite windy right now, the rain was falling horizontally.

Anwway, some big 24 hour totals according to the GFS..

Quite - things were looking uneventful in this area, but now we are forecast the most rain.. how quickly things change.

Quite a bit of heavy rain here in the last few days, and more this evening. The main event hasn't even started yet, so lot's of flooding around here for sure in the next few days.

Only 5.6mm of rain overnight and the radar shows mostly light stuff heading this way soon. Nowhere near as bad as what was being forecast for this area.

Wet and windy here now but rain rate is not that high. 5mm since about 3am.

It's 4.4C so there will be sleet a bit higher up for sure.

You might just manage to get an inch today then Aaron, with a couple more hours of rain yet. 22.7mm here, but the rain should clear soon.

Just reached 30mm since midnight. Watching the radar there's been a slightly heavier band sat over us for much of the afternoon and evening.

Super damp here in mid lincs ,not sure the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brayford_Pool can take much more before it floods.

Also go easy on certain foods in the coming week peps or may have more to worry about than the weather! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-20805966
