Temp not low at all tonight 2.3 ,no frost

Bit of a southerly wind in your area Marie, might be what's keeping the temperature up.

Just trying out the Christmas skin, i like it! really cool!! and the snowmen are great, and the large 3d netweather.tv text is great, nice design, this years one is fine for me as last years was a little dizzy and had to change it, but this is ok. Wondering about any snow Thursday, it keeps changes so never know what it might do, can't imagine anything but either snow or rain freezing solid on everything.

Of course!! Welcome to our odd little corner of the best UK weather forum on the net. Most of our regional contributors are completely safe (when sedated) and all of us are approachable if you have, in no particualr order:

  • Tea
  • Coffee
  • Chocolate
  • Biscuits
  • Alcoholic drink
  • Banter
  • Money

Oh, a bit of regional weather doesn't go amiss now and again as well!! Enjoy the forum. smile.pnggood.gif

Coast I would say in a particular order alcohol first. However feel free to rubbish me my flat is freezing. Time for the brandy trolley.

Back in Naaaaarich til tomorrow and its very frosty here. It took an hour to cross the Orwell bridge earlier because of a three car collision. Grrrrrrrr! No one was injured apparently. So that's good.

Gavin partridge has tweeted that high pressure over Spain doesn't normally bode well for winter here, I asked how long does he think it will stay like that and he said it can stay for sometime over France and Spain....

Am fed up now :(

No it doesn't bode well at all and we really don't want this to come off. This was a common feature during Winter 1988/89 and that winter is memorable for the wrong reasons from a coldies POV! Unfortunately most long range seasonal models are in agreement for this type of set up over the next few months. I'm with you in terms of being fed up, it may only be December 12th but it feels like it's been a long frustrating winter already!

Ah the dreaded Euro Trash High, Great in the Summer and Dreaded in the Winter, almost as nuisence value as the Bartlett High.

Euro High over France and Spain and sometimes its influence can stretch down to Northern Africa, it props up the Jet so it stays zonal with warm southerlies or south westerlies and a procession of Atlantic Lows, as Darren Betts says "At Least It Will Be Mild"!

Light pollution is obliterating it here, so no chance of seeing it
