From Sunday the -5ºc isotherm doesn't leave the SE until the low res part of the run

A lot of these charts I keep viewing seem to show Norfolk missing out on the snow for the most part...am I reading them right or am i just destined to miss the snow?

Peter Cockcroft "On Saturday we could see some rain and we could see some snow"

Not quite nailing the sail to the mask. He does mention snow possibly more frequent on Sunday, mostly to the North and East of London

Oh aye, par for the course! Couple of years ago we were the only green bit in a country blanketed by snow. The satellite picture was amazing to see.

Anyway tonight we have 1c and rain in Norwich.... will be interesting if it freezes later.

Looking at the charts/models/TV forecasts/twitter and NW posts I can't help but get the idea that if this cold and snow does verify next week the SE and EA look to receive the lower PPN amounts.

Anyone agree or is it just me panicking?

GFS appears to be an upgrade. JP & I knew GFS had to come on board sometime today.

Here's a few snowy outcomes this weekend in parts of the SE biggrin.png

Panicking ;-)

Snow can't be reliably or accurately predicted more then a few hours out usually so don't get yourself worked up for next week just yet ;-)

Se/ea will get the most out of this setup!

Expect central London to shut down Wednesday !

I wouldn't worry, we'll see a few surprises popping up I'm sure, lets get Saturday out the way before worrying about snow next week

http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=snow;sess= tue15th 06:00 is there a geographical reason we keep seeing this circle over central Norfolk?

At the moment, we just require the general trend of cold to continue. There is, as others have said, no point worrying about where the PPN will fall, and how much... Snow is ridiculously difficult to forecast at even less than 5 hours out, as we have seen with snow fall in the past, so you can imagine that at the moment, these PPN charts mean nothing.

As long as the trend with the models continues, there is no need to panic over snow fall yet.

Excellent run by the gfs, finally I feel we are on the final stretch now, just give it a few more runs and of course to see if any interesting weather appears towards the end of next week (big snowfalls). Don't worry about precipitation at the moment, get the cold in and hopefully start developing heights to the north and let everything unfold :D

Preciting troughs in a snow situation over 48 hours out is invariably going to be difficult and not so accurate. The fact that the set up is there for one to develop is encouraing though
