Anyone viewing on meteociel, view the 0.5deg high res GFS. The problem with the standard operational GFS is the low resolution pixelation.

That said, in my experience, the GFS always tends to overdo the dew points (and therefore NMM is likely to do the same, given its initialised from the same data set)

Some light snow flurries here in the last 30 mins

SK

Meteociel keeps us — EA — all snow.

The snow that people are reporting seems to be radar proof; nothing showing up at all!

That's cos it's very light, and is falling as grains...

Ah right, thanks, perhaps I'll get a nice surprise soon then!

EDIT: Speak of the devil, a few grains here now! :)

Yep, I can confirm that I am also seeing my first snow of the winter, albeit very very light.

Edit. The sun has just peeked through! Strange...

Mmmm no it doesnt

Not to say I necessarily believe that, but a bit misleading to say it shows an all snow event when the frame showing the heaviest precip shows only rain.

The one thing I would say - GFS doesn't really do evaporative cooling very well!

Very light snow here near Luton airport!! Hoping for more later. I think we will be ok re warm sector tomorrow!!

We had a very similar situation last February and I was pretty convinced that snow would turn to sleet / rain, on a Saturday night. I woke up on the Sunday pleasantly surprised. I won't think too much more on the possibilities until tomorrow morning now. :)

We have light snow grains falling here in Maldon, Essex.

I wouldn't be too worried about tomorrows event tbh, i think many people will be pleasantly suprised when the bands arrive. Only a few weeks before Christmas my area was forcast rain overnight and come the morning everywhere was white!

Just my opinion of course but i don't really see rain being a factor at all.

I think that there might be something rather 'wrong' with that chart, Floaty: it shows snow for the areas likely to be under the 'warm sector', but rain elsewhere?

Yes, I think that chart is way too negative (from a snow lovers point of view) too.
