the wunderground radar shows where the band of havier ppn currently is. Everything infront of this is extremely light it would seem and is being picked up via precipitype radars

Met office & bbc local/national forecasts for tomorrow, now showing sleet and temps upto 4 or 5'c for the afternoon here in sheffield. Reserving the east coast and high elevations prone to a strengthening easterly flow for all day snow. ANY EXPERIENCED THOUGHTS guys ??

I saw that and its worried me a bit

Still dry here.

Just checked the forecast for here for tomorrow and they have snow for us. Gut feeling is with warmer temps coming with the front it will be rain away from the higher areas possibly turning to snow if evaporative cooling gets going.

I must admit the radar is very disappointing at the moment, with nothing getting past the pennines whatsoever.

Even west of the pennines theres barely anything to write home about, can't see any accumulations from this.

Post from the North West here! Started off pretty pathetic then has picked up quite nicely now. Passing it over to you and considering Preston is virtually at sea level so you guys should get a nice covering. Enjoy.

Light snow now in S11. Sticking on bin tops and car roofs a little.

That's good for those south of leeds but to the north it looks like we are going to get one of those dreaded gaps/light patches

I'm not sure whether the front will pep as it moves across Yorkshire at all but the METO text update suggests this may be the case;

Headline:

Very cold with snow and ice.

This Evening and Tonight:

Snow extending southeastwards across all areas this evening, tuning heavy for a time, giving local significant falls, especially in the higher areas, but snow turning light and dying away by morning. Staying very cold with widespread icy conditions. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Time will tell though, and to be honest, tomorrow's band was always forecast to be more active than tonight's anyway.
