Pretty much hopeless if your after setting snow those who like me have seen rain overr the past hour.

Those who want to see non setting snow should be in business however i don't think i will bother as snow that does not settle is not something that floats my boat.

Have a good one all.

Beers & Bed for me.

If it snows and the snow is not wet snow again, it will settle on a wet surface. It depends on the type of snow not how wet the surface is.

NO NO NO Ed - You are doing this all wrong

You slag it off after the forecast has gone wrong!

Fair play to Steve for sticking his forecasting head on the line for tonight though, lets see how it pans out! Hehehe

Oh right. Well it's looks like there is pivotting and back building to me so we shall see if Steve is right or wrong!

Where can I find the latest due points and temps?

xcweather.co.uk

Be prepared for a dose of reality though; the only places in the country supporting snowfall and settled snow is North Norfolk and a little area in the North East.

Doesnt bode well for snow later. Widely temps are above freezing, and so is dp.

Just asked Chris Bell (BBC Forecaster on Look East) if he can post his picture in this thread which shows 15.5cm of snow North of Norwich, hoping he will oblige in a mo for all the doubters, just seen the picture on Facebook!

I confess to being a doubter about the reports of 6 inches of snow in EA. My apologies if it is indeed true.

Never mind.....Im dancing around to UB40 !!

Oh well, if Steve doesn't think it's going to hit us then we may as well all just go to bed now! help.gif

P.S.

It seems to be developing nicely now, hopefully the NMM is modelling the intensity wrong because it'd struggle to give much more than 3cm if it's right!

the next 3 hours are crucial DP dropage hours!!

clear those cruddy showers outt he way & get us in the clear cold air-

S

I agree there steve,

However have to say that a lot of rain or snow that has not set that has fallen today. I was hopeful that if we missed those showers that are ongoing now then things would have dried up the colder air would filter in & into the early hours things could have been very intresting.

However things are not that simple with our weather.

sorry..I just saw the latest BBC forcast...Had a good deal of snow in it.. With a "dusting" quite widely in the south east tease.gif

Nothing to go by TBH... But if that lot can back build and stay like it is... We could get lucky :D

Just for fun/interest - I found this, it uses twitter accounts to give locations of where snow is falling real-time.
