Long time lurker here and I can't contain myself any longer.

I feel we are on the verge of the biggest dumping of snow in a long, long time.

I have everything crossed and hope we all get to see a good few inches.

Here we go guys and gals, welsh whiteout! clapping.gif

correct me if i am wrong but having just read the metoffice warning that states the band of snow will spread northeastwards from the south west and looking at the latest radar the worst of the band which is over ireland looks as if it will not be hitting south walesbut further north.i think things in the south do not look as bad as the warning indicates a bit of over hyping by the metoffice ?????

Not that busy in here tonight, I thought it would be in meltdown! Where is everyone?

Temp stubbornly holding at 2ºC here, I hope that cold air from France gets dragged in soon.

Monday's snow event looking much weaker for us on the current run

Who cares??

Tomorrow's snow event looking mega-promising. I'm a late 60s baby, so remember some epic snow events (Caerphilly 78, Pembs 82) and am soooo looking forward to an historic dump tomorrow.

[edit - the dump I'm referring to is clearly an historic dumping of snow as opposed to any other sort of dump you may think I was talking about]

I think some of you have to take into account the effects that the mountains of Wales will have on the precip and also the wind will lead to drifting.

The Met Office don't put out a red warning for no reason. Heavy precip was always expected to hit northern ireland ect. We will get moderate - heavy snow driven on by a strong wind.

Looking at the rain today radar, bottom edge seems to be intensifying as it hits land in France. Hopefully will do the same for Pays de Galles!

Good luck everybody!!
