Very heavy snow here again now as a blob developed right over my house

Thought you said it was going to be marginal for Bristol today? acute.gif

Bo selector - reeeeewind.....impressive - cleared the birds food table at 13.15 - it's white again and looking over the fields it's coming in vast white sheets - winds from SE - I get the feeling (from my location) that this is coming direct from the Channel - attached is a picture from 2010 when a huge snowstorm was coming towards us - the clouds are many miles out in the Channel

Very pleased for people in our region who have experienced some good snow, There was much concern last night from many, but all was well, For people on coast frindge further West and Cornwall folk, winter really not yet over, Some interesting days as we enter second part of winter,

Just wondering how much west this snow on sunday may hit thats coming up from the south east, Again east of our region seeing the best chance for that, worth keeping an eye out for that one though could just clip it. Think we will see a bit or a thaw along the south coast tomorrow as temps rise to abot 3-4oc. Still looking cold for the days ahead and still all to play for.

Probably sleet/rain on Sunday.

Today has been brillitant, though.

Yep, still falling in Henley on Thames. Daughter meaured almost 10cm on the picnic bench!

Be safe and enjoy SNOWMAGEDDON on foot, sled, ski and snowboard! good.gif

Oh, and don't forget the garden birds... crusts, apple cores and some fresh water will help...

Its amazing the differences in a short distance. Just heard on the local news that Yeovilton only had 2cm whereas we have had more than 10.

Hail or graupel? :)

I had to google graupel!! Not sure now. But it's small hail but not all round shaped. Some pellet like so whatever that is lol.

not impressed!....went to the village shop and there was only 1, yes 1 bottle of Speckly left!...some barsteward had nearly swiped the lot before me!...luckily there was plenty of Hobgoblin left so all is not lost!

oh yeah, on topic, light flurries of snow now, maybe some convective stuff coming of the Bristol Channel to top up if they can hold together.....About 12cm of level snow here with 1 foot drifts in places. The local council have done a good job as the main road (A3102) was well gritted and is comfortably driveable
