Love it all around there! Never made it up there in the snow tho! Bluebell woods around there in Spring - when we get a good one!x

WG I can't enthuse enough about getting up there in the snow, it's something else. I can see up to Colley Hill from our house - sometimes when it's very cold with no sun the snow holds firm there all day and I can look up the escarpment to the ridge and imagine, for a moment, that I'm looking at a proper high moorland (it helps in this image if the M25 is shut by snow so you can't hear it!) It's not high even on a UK scale but it is high enough to make it different and a little other-worldly and that, for me, is easily enough.

5-10 minutes before it hits?

All it seemed to do was make the snowflakes bigger for a bit! The wind is F4 - F6 from the SE so they are going up, down, left and right with not much settling going on!

Top post there John Pike, nicely condensed into one easy to understand post and shows what to look out for in the next couple of days.

Much appreciated good.gif

Same here in Shoebury. Thank god, after waiting all day it finally arrived about an hour ago. Too late to try out my new camera on but, hopefully more over the weekend so I can get snapping. smile.png

Slight dusting in Gravesend across the water today too, but don't suppose your new camera will reach this far - what did you get?

Nothing happening at all now. Eerily still out there - shame it's still cloudy as a moonlight walk with the doggies would be wonderful. Lottie, is Folkestone finally getting some, if you'll pardon the expression?

Excellent news. Surely that would produce more than the forcast 5cm if that comes off Sunday?

i think tomorrows weather forecasts on tv may change a little

Yep all done and dusted (Pardon the Pun)

I wonder if tomorrow could actually see the rarer East South Easterly Snow Streamer ?

This will favour North Kent and North London, looking that way from those latest charts just posted!

Isn't that the type of Streamer that setup in 2010? It gave me about 31cm of level snow! Obviously not expecting those totals to be repeated tomorrow, the models suggest the PPN will be generally light in nature as you say

Regarding Sunday and the mysterious French snow. I find it quite unusual that a such a short time frame this is still so vague. What do ppl think? Is Surrey in the frame for this? How much and how long?

Aside from a typical Kevin & Perry scene with my 13yr old daughter (she actually said "I hate you", slammed the door, stomped up the stairs, nearly took her bedroom door off its hinges and cranked up some awful music) because I wouldn't let her stay in the next village at a friends (weather conditions)...... its been a very good day for snow.

We haven't had extreme (check the cupboards for soup tins and dry foods) snow, but we do have a few inches.

Reading posts throughout the day, I've realised a fundamental thing.... Unless it's snowing to a point where it's gonna make us wonder if the army may need to be called to dig us out, we're never gonna be satisfied.

I know a few will argue that they'd be happy just to see a few flakes, but c'mon, be honest, we just wanna get snowed in!

Of course, that will inevitably be detrimental if it happened, but snow lovers still have a big amount of kid inside - we want epic (and then we'll just deal with the fallout as and when it happens....)

My 13 year old is off to upton park to see the football with a mate and his mum tomorrow. I have to say i'm slightly worried if these predicted streamers kick off. What if they get stuck getting back? wacko.png

Hi Dan

No the 3 day event in 2010 was defo an ENE Snow Streamer, there has only been 1 from the ESE Since Netweather started in 2003, will try and dig out some charts, I know Barnet and North London and North Kent Coasts (Including Herne Bay) did very well out of it.

Thanks for the welcome :) I can confirm I have very very light snow falling, oh how little things make me happy :)

After the snow dodging Rainham managed today, the last hour hour or two has been very welcome and made me much happier than I have been all afternoon!

Thinking about walking on some virgin Rainham snow before bed. All 0.5cm of it!
