Worrying now. It's getting warmer. Temp now -0.3c and dp of -1.6c. Haven't really had any heavy snow. Got about 2-3 cm's at best. Very light but persistent snow. Listening to those in Leigh on Sea and Southend, I think i'm in a warm bubble.

Snow can fall and settle when the air temperature is as high as 2/3 degrees in the UK

Starting to see some bigger flakes in Thanet now but still mostly fine and powdery. I want to see some 50p flakes!!

Small flakes is better, people! It's less dense and accumulates quicker. Small flakes also means that the air is very cold and due points are low so it's not marginal.

My mum finally phoned from down near Limoges.........they've had approx 12cm overnight, with the wetter larger flakes at the end. Still going strong here and the grass has finally disappeared.

Would love just 30-60 mins of 50p flakes - just to quicken things up a bit. Still fairly persistent here with the light to moderate stuff.

The snow is fine due to it being powdery, this is because it's much colder and it introducing a continental flow, you can get some bigger falls from this than bigger flakes.

Still snowing steadily in Petts wood/locksbottom borders(6 on Murrometer),Temp risen to 0.2 degrees.Just hope it continues at at least this rate(preferably upto an 8 on Murrometer) till 6pm.

It's a beautiful morning - steady fine snow which has coated everything decoratively and added nicely to Fridays snow. By this evening it is going to be a winter wonderland Such a pity however that a thaw is going to spoil it as soon as tomorrow.
