Looked like the radar (1/2 hour ago) showed pretty consistent light snowfall coming in from the south east with little in the way of more intense snowfall - but will keep fingers crossed!

Amazes me how so many people worry about what the bbc are forecasting, they are never upto date. Spend 30 seconds checking far more accurate charts for yourself..

http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfs/precipitations-hd/3h.htm

Heavier snow as afternoon goes on before slow easing after dark, stopping around 10 . Skis clearing overnight with temperatures at dusk between -6 and -10.

Okay look to Norwich... See the 850 Wind vectors are due East.. The front is hitting it and being pushed East.. It can't get past there like a block... Now we need to focus on France Germany Border.. As that stuff is now leaving there and heading for us.. If this eastrly wind can stick it out we could get some nice falls from this... Tottaly going against any models and forcasts this low...

**NB* RE.SNOW DEPTH CUP.

I nearly forgot, I was going to mention what happens if any of you have the same amount as your opponent.

If you're on zilch, nada, you will have a replay during the next snow event. If you have a score draw, a penalty shoot-out will result and only I will know the result, probably, if you put your height above sea-level in your profile or I'll have to ask you your postcodes, now you dont want me to do that do you!

IN OTHER WORDS, IF YOU HAVE BOTH RECORDED THE SAME AMOUNT, EXCEPT 0-0, THE MEMBER WITH THE LOCATION WITH THE LOWEST ALTITUDE, SHALL BE DEEMED THE WINNER.

If by some strange quirk your locations are at the same height, the emergency Pools Panel (Snow Panel), showing my age now, will be brought in to adjudicate on the result (Paul Sherman, Steve Murr and Chionomaniac), using polystyrene balls, bifurcated jetstreams and SSWs! I've not been drinking either!

Cheers,

Tom

P.S. Did someone mention snow tomorrow evening? Thats any replays sorted out then! Hopefully wont be any 0-0 draws

and we can move onto next round. Remember winners in this round, will be playing winners of next match in list!

At work but not much work to do (Bookmakers), racing abandoned at Kempton Park (Hampton Court way).

Still taking bets on Chelsea/Arsenal and Spurs/Man.Utd. I've got to stay and put Spurs/Utd result in computer for settlement

Last day of account today and accounts go out tomorrow!

Mind you, if that match gets abandoned, I can go home after Chelsea/Arsenal, come on you North London snow!

Cheers,

Tom.

I wouldn't call this a great snow event as this is all heavy snizzle. 1 cm accumulated over 2 hrs Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Looking at 3 cm by end of day unless we get a midday thaw as snowfalls.

It won't go down as one of the better events until the grass is gone. We might need more snow during the week to make it notable.

Low dew points limiting the snow to small but mod to heavy intensity.

I think with a bit of slight warming and the heavier ppn arriving this afternoon, we should see some 20p/10p flakes.

Pretty much at the western edge of the steady stuff here, only light but already re-covering where some of Friday's snow had melted. good.gif

True though our snow depths are a lot better than yours :)

Road coverage is crap though

Latest measurement was 4.5cms at 11:00.

This is building up quite nicely, erm am I still in that measurement competition Tom?

Are you up in the woods? I have 3cm at the moment.
