Snowing lightly in Surbiton now; we have finally caught up with the radar!

Mostly snow detected on the HR EC output for LDN before midnight, signal increases for sleety mix afterwards into the early morning- the situation for surrounding areas would therefore be for snow for the most part, before turning increasingly wet and sleety into dawn.

big gaps appearing on the radar though now so looks likely it's breaking up and will only be the odd shower here and there.

Maybe but it should all move more Westward now rather than Northward.

True looking at xcweather yeah but what is interesting me is the back edge if you can call it that, or for easier terms the right edge is still creeping further up the Channel towards the Lower North Sea.

Which if so even with a move West it'll pass us and the Thames :)

I think some areas in the bullseye zone of Surrey / Berkshire / North Hampshire could get at least a foot infact

It's due to go on for about 9hrs, lots of yellow and red pulses so let's say the average is 3-4mm an hour for that time that's 27-36cm which is 12-15 inches

a foot! I so wish you were right about that !

It is very close to us on the radar so fingers crossed. Would be nice to see a few flakes and even better if we can manage a covering on top of the existing snow cover.

Seems a bit of convection has kicked off in the Thames ahead of the main line of precip?

It certainly looks like it, could help S Essex out and then swing back into London as it pivots West...something to keep an eye on.

Meanwhile, the main band of ppn to the South is still building nicely, with convection from the Channel helping the ppn retain it's intensity and there are some brighter echoes appearing to the South of London as I type.... So keep radar watching folks and let's see how this evolves.

(Still concerned with temps right now... could be marginal for some)
