Why is the Radar showing Sleet west of London?? people are saying Snow, nothing here apart from a slushy mess from Sunday snow has melted here

Not 100% sure on this, but as far as I'm aware, the snow radar doesn't actually pick up on the precip falling, instead it uses the forecast temps / dp's etc to guess where the snow / sleet / rain line is. Maybe chiono or someone who knows better could clarify?

Isn't this all supposed to get as far as Sussex which it has

Then pivot and head west

So far it's doing what the national forecast has said

Maybe it hasn't moved further north because its not going to

I so hope bbc are wrong

Ive had enough of radar ive got 4 of em open and they never end up being rightsmile.png ...If someone in SE London says its there thats good enough for me ill know im going to get it...simples...prefer actual reports from fellow SE'ers to phantom radar..much more reliable

Nope. The Met Office issued a yellow warning for parts of our region hours ago. There's a reason why it's only a yellow warning and there's a reason a lot of our region isn't even covered!

The West/ south west of London really seems to have been the region to be for snow this winter so far I suppose it evens out as many as winter its either bucks/ Herts when we get a northerly outbreak or Kent&Essex from an easterly- usually occurs more in February from memory, atleast everyone's had some. Goodluck to those in for some tonight I doubt we will get any here just south of the Thames.

turned back to sleet now..lool

seems that the heavier PPN is an all snow affair but as soon as the PPN weakens it turns back to sleet here, expecting to wake up to no laying snow at all if this keeps up..ohh well what a roller coaster of a few days it has been.

I think some areas in the bullseye zone of Surrey / Berkshire / North Hampshire could get at least a foot infact

It's due to go on for about 9hrs, lots of yellow and red pulses so let's say the average is 3-4mm an hour for that time that's 27-36cm which is 12-15 inches

Now you really are in FI.....Fantasy Island !!
