The latest radar shows the band still moving NW from the Channel, with the pivot of the low roughly over the Weymouth area right now.

Looks like most areas will see some ppn from this, temps still marginal for some of us, but looks like the forecasters are still underplaying the possibility of disruptive snow in our region, especially the further West you go.

(EDIT: Would be handy if I posted the latest image eh? :D )

Chiono, if you are still here:

@TravelNewsSouth A273 very difficult off the A23 up to Burgess Hill, would advise avoiding it.

I am going to kick my local weather station up the bum, it's been displaying as heavy rain for the past 2 hours...when it was clearly wet snow / proper snow ....and now it's turned back to sleet / rain ...the weather station tells me it's snowing....arrrghhhh !!

OK, drizzle/snow mix here in Reading now. Nothing heavy yet. I guess that's a good sign as when the heavier stuff arrives it'll hopefully be snow. Seems to be arriving at the right time as well. Glad I'm at home, but will take a drive later!

Is it most likely to all end up as rain in the end tonight ?

Right whole of harrow borough covered in ppn

Yet nish

Oh yeah, I was near Harrow earlier at a meeting so the snow may well avoid the area just in case I'm still there. Expect Rochester to get buried if the weather doesn't think I'm back yet.

This is looking very good for the region. Look at the radar then compare with the gfs high res pressure charts between t3 and t6

The low is further north east than modelled. You can see this for yourself by looking at the precipitation over Torquay, if the low was as modelled the precipitation should be travelling wSw but it is heading ssw.

I think even the Southend members may be pleasantly surprised.

Seems to have slowed down...taking an awfully long time to hit London now.

Yeah I'm not sure London will get anything from this; maybe southern and south-western suburbs, but would imagine anywhere north of the Thames may get a few flakes at most.

The weather in Brighton will not make up its mind. Now it's lots of teeny snow but in the last five mins it's also been sleet and sleet/rain

Temperature stuck at 1.1C, dusting of snow from 1 hour ago still there, hopefully it doesn't warm up again.

I would not bet on it tbh, hoping it swerves away as this will almost certainly turn to Rain here with a South East fetch and very marginal temps/dews.

Further West towards you and London could be a different story though!
