Steady heavy snow in Cardiff. It is blowing about a bit and only settling on cars but it's just a start here in the city centre.

If it carries on like this for a couple of hours, it will be better than Friday's event, when it mostly light to moderate snow here.

• Yup snowing heavy and blowin in the wind as Bob used to say. After all the despondancy before Christmas I'm really enjoying this winter now. I know theres a mushy period coming but any hope of a reload before the end of Feb just to put the seal on the 2013 winter?

Ah yes just saw ITV weather, dont know where to find the video, but I will show you instead:

Number 1 shows our current situation with the occluded front just to our south,this is what is producing the snow, this then hangs (stalls) around this area until midnight.

Number 2 shows the front pivoting around and gives it the tilt shown, this will mean more snow along those areas until the morning, which then fades out later.

you know what it's like up here - mega snow blizzardy thingy going on - not gonna see the outside world for a little while me thinks after this - glad I knew what was coming even if the meto were a littl late to tell anyone - I've had nothing but praise for my warnings! - and make people happy that they are well informed!

yes and in fact the re-load may come a lot quicker than you think!

Credit to you mate you warned us days ago! Blizzards here its crazy, no snow where I work left in Cardiff bay, up here 3 inches still plus what we've had so far.

you'll probably all think I'm mad - but I'm currently in touch with the welsh assembly about building the 1st PROPER - Ski resort in Wales - hopefully based in the Beacons National Park - will hopefully involve a lovely ski lodge with bar and rooms and live entertainment etc - and some ski lifts - chair and otherwise tow ropes/t bars etc - I'm hopeful That I can get the backing of the 1st minister to create lots of lovely jobs and attract some new visitors to Wales - what d'ya all think - winters like this are gonna be the norm and worse for the next 30 years - so I think this could be the time to get Wales involved properly in the sking industry - Watch This Space! - Anyone want to buy a brand new snowmobile - Let Me Know Tel:- *

The main band was forecast not really to affect Mid Powys too much - but some light snow is to be expected. However the precip is perhaps further north on the radar than I expected, so we may still get some more significant amounts. Further east where you are should be slightly better than here as well.

Tonight is the one night I really don't want to see loads of snow (as we have a major booking over the next two days), so the law of the sod would suggest that we're gonna see loads of it

If you don't want it, and given the above I can't blame you. Can we have it.

After last night being dry, and more of a thaw in past 24 hrs (wintry mix of showers daytime today) , Snow cover down to around 60% on grass, much less on pavements etc.

The cold spell seems to be petering out. Problem for us has been a lack of real frosts, even in the week before, but past week still a good spell in retrospect.

My hopes are dwindling at the moment.
