Strange, its just got heavier and turned straight back to heavy rain. I've always thought the heavier it gets the better chances for snow? And also how do the motorway cams at Knutsford, Middlewich and Sandbach all show snow yet Macclesfield, which is higher and further east has rain/sleet...

Whoever has the giant heater on in Macclesfield, please turn it off

It looks beautiful out there. All the branches on the trees are coated because of the lack of wind, Fingers crossed for many more snow events to come - maybe not this year but there's always next :-)

Lack of wind its virtually a blizzard!

If this was the M25 motorway in chaos it would be headline BBC News - they haven't even mentioned it yet.

Are you suggesting that BBC News is London-centric?

Never!!!!nick-cage-lol.gif

My radar says rain :-(

We've been under 'freezing rain' for the last 2 hours apparently according to Rain Today! Over 3 inches of 'freezing rain' that we've made a snowman out of! ;)

just went through the 18z GFS and the upper air temps actually get cloder as we go through the night from hovering around 0 down to -4 in a few hrs i think other factors suchas dew points and air temps will counteract this drop in uppers but still it may get us a bit longer :)

Hope it clears soon, high risk of it turning to rain soon.

2010 style intensity if not depths. You average person would from here expect half a foot by morning.

What a shame couldn't appen last week.

In south Warrington it is some of the densest, wettest snow imaginable, only 2 inches at most. But causing far more trouble on the roads than the deeper, drier snow in previous days where the roads stayed mostly clear.

Chucking it down with sleety rain here. Winter's over haha. I suppose if it turned to rain that quickly it could turn back to snow equally as quickly.

Wintry stuff still hasn't reached here yet! Lol. Sounds like you guys are getting classic heavy, knife edge stuff - with some getting tonnes and some getting a little!

And shocking to see pics of M6 etc tonight
