I completely agree with you...except your use of the word mild. 6C is never mild in any month in this country.

Driving down to Banbury and back on Sunday afternoon. I think we'll be OK but am a little concerned. Anyone think I have reason to be concerned?

Yeah concerned about flooding, will be okay though if not near rivers

Interesting few days coming up, some parts will be lucky, & don't forget the system that may bring snow hasn't even formed as such yet, it's a difficult one to forecast, even the met office are struggling, it will be down to radar watching on Sunday & of course forum watching :)

yeah probably tommorow evening or sunday morning if synoptics stay the same, shame its so quiet in here

Reading the model thread & having watched the met office deputy chiefs YouTube forecast you really get the impression that even the "experts" don't know exactly where it will snow and how much, we may get a better idea tomorrow, a shift 50 miles southwest could take in a lot more of the midlands, a shift north & all the midlands miss out

Note the "finely balanced" & "still quite a lot of uncertainty" comments.......

18Z is further south and west, sunday thankfully less wet for north, still tomorrows front lingering though, before 2nd front to the SW at midday, another SW shift would be good, mainly dry until 6pm, and maybe wet snow/sleet as it clears away

dont see whats with the negativity mark? gfs a clear upgrade and is more than a bit of 'wet snoe/sleet as it clears away'... a potential for a few hours of heavy snowfall

It is truly going to be a nail biting few days for some of us :-/

2-5cms imo is what were looking at rather than 10+. Which when in comparison to the U.S right now its hardly an event. If we could get snow earlier on then things would improve a fair bit but unfortunately with temps of 2/3/4 celcius then for every 5cms that falls only a couple will stick.

Some light precipitation getting close to our north west right now. Think we're on the wrong side of marginal right now though.

GFS surely too progressive with the Atlantic? its Feb not Dec? ECMWF surely got the right idea here for mid week

The problem is no one knows. It will change again and again on every run till the event happens!

There is no doubt the low on the last 3 gfs runs is tracking further south west we really want this trend to continue so the whole of the midlands will get snow and we can all enjoy it.
