Remember folks, no model on earth is capable of predicting where accumulations will be. Anywhere and I mean ANYWHERE can have accumulations not picked up by a model.

We had 2cm on the ground a couple of weeks ago and we were predicted zilch. (as a counter argument)

The word could or perhaps has vanished '

And replaced with will

A lot of emphasis on Kent getting a lot of snow tomorrow evening/night, I guess because it is closest to the cold air on the near continent when winds eventually back easterly, given the short sea track.

I hope those of you feeling confident about snow are correct. I really do.

But the way I see it is light rain early afternoon, turning a bit sleety and perhaps a spell of wet snow late evening.

Very little if any accumulations. And very localised. Better chances the further East you are.

Hoping for upgrades overnight...

Yep, the 'wet' snow in the BBC headline forecast just now did not go unnoticed

It does seem odd that up to 10cm is being predicted. On high gound maybe, but I just cannot see it settling to any degree. It's just going to be too warm IMO. The temperature stays above zero at all times.

As always I'd love to be proved wrong on this.

Tomorrow if it snows... They will be huge huge huge flakes of snow in the heavier PPN due to the marginal temps

Will I end up like this?

Looks like I be ok here then?

Hard to say.

The further east the better. But coastal areas could be a bit dodgy as well!

It's basically a stick your head out the window episode.

Interesting to see the change in direction of ppn over the south-east this evening. We are now starting to pick up a southerly flow and should start to see the weather front pivot, eventually bringing in the colder south-easterly flow into the south-east tomorrow evening. What it will bring only time will tell. Lamppost watching later tomorrow I think. good.gif

Sorry but the Temps for Monday will keep up a thaw so it wont last long.

Not actually expecting anything here as its is a rain to snow event going to be too wet and temps wont go below 0.

May see something but not going to last long and could be VERY slushy wet snow.

Wont the wind chill help the temps, or does that not make any difference?

Wind chill makes no difference - it's just an indication of how cold it feels in the wind.

Wrong, wind chill can actually turn rain to snow, so I'm sure it can preserve snow cover as well. The sun is the snow killer!
