It’s still winter so I want winter weather. To me at least, that seems normal. Should we get an early heatwave I probably wouldn't begrudge one but I wouldn't like to see the damage inflicted on nature and more importantly agriculture because of it. Nature faces enough problems from our extremely variable climate so I guess because of this knowledge, I want things to be at least seasonal. From the spring Equinox onwards, I will indeed be wishing for spring to arrive in earnest.

Currently sunny (yes!) cool at 4.8c AT and a 0.9c DP. I hope the frosts return tonight and for a few weeks yet.

You are correct in that transition from late winter to early spring should be gradual and include some frosty nights and cold/chilly days, Weather of course will decide what pattern it intends to take,,,,,, It's the obsessive search for deep cold. that gets little tedious at this time of year, Edited by cerneman

Although tomorrow will start cloudy, I think that the cloud will break up for a few of us and some sunny spells emerging come the afternoon;

It'll be cold whatever though.

Perhaps Mullender will get his temporary dusting on Monday morning?

Can't say I find it tedious with others looking for deep cold at this time of year, March can be a very cold month, as for me I'd either like deep cold or temps in the high teens, not interested in anything inbetween lol

Temperatures still holding up down here.

Even on the coast we are at 5.2C with 27mph wind meaning windchill figures are only just nudging below freezing point

Patiently waiting for the cold air

Agreed and with nearly 11 hours of daylight soon to hit us, it is pointless looking for settled snowfall for most. Cornwall will almost certainly be a region now that is the first in our region to reach double-digits on many a day from early March onwards. The UK climate does whatever it wants to anyway so we are just expressing our wishes and the reality will no doubt be much crueller. What a cracking afternoon we ended up having in Newbury, simply beautiful. drinks.gif

Much windier here thus evening so feeling colder now. Cloudier from now on but not like elsewhere. West Cornwall will be one of the best places to see sunshine throughout this cold spell. :D

Just about fish totaly for Bass these days. King of the sea,the Bass.

Got the famous manacles reef about a mile away,still a few double figure fish left.

Wouldn't want to be there at the moment mind you.

Just looked at the radar and it shows showers coming into the SE thick and fast, but after a quick trip to the SE regional, there's nothing falling out of the sky, what's that about then?

well some maybe but not all ;-)

LOL In fairness most of my fishing is from the shore around the helford porthallow area.

Shallow diving plugs mostly. Fish mostly in the 2-3 lb range.odd one a bit bigger.
