Absolutely biting wind out there today. Cuts straight through you. Coldest its felt all winter down here! Less sun than expected too sadly. But light snow tomorrow morning. :)

You sure we are expected some light snow down here tomorrow Blizzards?

In all it's been a bitterly disapointing Winter for us in West Cornwall I'd say, a light dusting on one day in January is all we have to show this year for our troubles.

Meteo say for tonight "Further snow showers in the east, and perhaps along the south coast later"

Certainly something going on in the near continent!!

Well, the charts are suggestive of some light snow or snow flurries in the morning. No accumulation imo. Ill detail things out here later/on my new website for Cornwall weather as per the signature. :)

You must feel rather privileged to share a birthday with Ian Fergusson. :p :p

Anyway, back to the weather. GFS continues to show a cold weekend, with snow flurries for some on Saturday.

Heavy snow I seriously doubt. Just a couple of hours of intermittent light snow flurries occasional light snow at times id say. Bitterly cold again.

Yes,thought so to. Strange for BBC to put up the heavy snow icon, normally they are v.conservative.

Also see we've got good old sleet forecast for us(falmouth) They just cant bring themselves to put a snow symbol up for us.That really would be pushing it.smile.png

EDIT spoke to soon, just plain old rain for falmouth nowcray.gif

A shame that uploading it here compresses it so much it loses it's quality. :(

Seriously freeeezing out there at the moment!! Can't beat a good Easterly!!

For us Dorset coasties best chances of seeing a bit of snow IMO will be through Friday into Saturday but as the winds veer of a more NE direction Sussex Eastwards and the penninsulas of Devon / Cornwall are likely to continue to pick up scattered wintery ppn for a while longer. Channel Isles could easily pick up a few inches off a channel streamer.

And unlikely to, as it heads into South Wales

Still Interesting it wasn't forecast though isn't it , shows how far Inland organised precipitation will get.

Enjoy the cold spell in the UK. I think by the time I get back for a weekend this time next week, the spell may be waning. We really need a good classic northerly like 26th Feb 2004, 28th Feb 2005 or 1st March 2006. All brought snow to my part of the world - none of this easterly pants.

Grey cloud and rain here in Madrid today with wind and a high of 11C - very much like most of autumn in the UK last year.

Yeah looking at the radar I think the term "Thames Barrier" has adopted a new meaning, it seems to be fending everything off, and keeping it in the North Sea..

That one streak heading into Wales, managed to go over the top of it!
