Tomorrow is going to be very wet. A typical South to North rain band bringing high rainfall rates and localised flooding.

South coast could be looking at upwards of 40mm where the greatest intensity will be, as well the North of the region where the rain band slows down against another air mass pushing southwards.

gfs is the warmest run from the 10th to the 12th baring a couple of members

yet puts out the highest snowfall

big spike 11th to 12th

these are cold

watch out for flooding potential between now and sunday

Any ideas what the March temperature records are here? On the met site its says the lowest maximum temp for England in March was minus 3 yet were only forecast to be 3-4c warmer than this on Monday? Would you expect somewhere up north in the sticks to break the record?

after the 14th

have a guess wacko.png

My guess it will stay cold but not as cold as monday tuesday will be. Maybe between 5-8 degrees. Most of the members stay below zero. I just wonder weather the cold will reload or we get some warmth Later on.

as i said take a guess

if i run the mean from the 14th to the 17th

i would say 2-4 degrees but so much scatter its hard to call

just for fun at present

13031118_2_0718.gif

would certainly cause some travel problems if this happened

Seems that the cold arrives earlier than Sunday according to the Met O site for EA this morning

Saturday:

Cloudy and dull again, with rain at times, with the rain turning to sleet or snow in many places during the afternoon and evening. Maximum Temperature 8 °C.

morning john, thats a good read for anyone who thinks we cant get decent snow in march!-

"

Spring

March was even worse than February. The first half of the month remained wintry. Blizzards and heavy snow affected the country from time to time. For example, on the 4-6th a snowstorm affecting most of England and Wales deposited 40cm snow in Birmingham and caused drifts close to 5m high in parts of southern Wales. Southern England, meanwhile, was affected by an ice storm. Temperatures dropped sharply during this period and one of the coldest March nights on record followed when lows dipped to -21.1C in Braemar, Peebles and Houghall (all in the northern half of Britain) on the 4th. Later in the month, on the 16th, gales affected the UK and in some parts of southern England gusts were close to 100 mph. "

Morning neighbours!

Well GFS overnight has gone loopy and given us a snowfest if it comes to fruition:

66_20.gif

72_20.gif

78_20.gif

Monday was previously quiet, now its hors d'oeuvres the main event on the 00z:

84_20.gif

90_20.gif

I wouldn't be going far with this lot falling:

96_20.gif

102_20.gif

108_20.gif

114_20.gif

I'd love these to become the actual weather we are going to get, just got to wait and see what other data comes out during the next days.....
