just enjoyed a winters walk - latest shower has provided a nice top up - layer underneath (mm not cm) had frozen nicely which bodes well

Most of the showers missing north or south of here, although when they do graze past the snow comes on heavy and the wind picks up some swirls of snow from anywhere exposed to the breeze. A beautiful sight.

Finally had a direct hit in Freuchie and what an incredible event this is! Road covered over in 2 minutes flat, accumulations from a dusting to an inch in about 15 minutes and it's just the most amazing sight to see. Temperature -2.1C, DP -4C, moderate-heavy snow. Perfection.

Yes it's very nice out there! Would be interesting to see how cold it could've got had we not had the showers /wind through the night. Absolutely frozen solid out there, looking very wintry indeed!

So glad to have finally got another proper wintry blast from a more northerly origin in what has been a very SErly dominated winter (when it's been cold, that is.)

We've had a few more showers over night, no great depth of snow, but cracking to see it all white again outside in daylight.

More showers coming today, I'm not sure how long they will last for but no reason to think they will fizzle out very quickly, some sunshine may even intensify them for a while.

No extra top up here, still at around an inch and a bit. Looks like some places have been pasted overnight, especially East Fife, the Lothians and the Borders. Showers painfully missing my area at the moment, can't complain really though, it's -3°c with a strong north easterly breeze! cold.gif

No more here since 9.30pm last night but everything white and a beautiful morning although the blowtorch will no doubt do away with the limited cover when it fully rises

Stunning morning. 2-3 inches overnight of that lovely, powdery, non compacting 'euro' snow! Just brilliant!

About 1.5 inches of THE most beautiful snow - really classic stuff, incredibly fine, squeaks and creaks when walked on - like the 2010-11 snowmageddon was! Bringing back very happy memories :)

Off out for an early trot round the block because nobody else has been out so it's all untrodden wheeee!!!!

No more than a dusting of snow pellets here this morning....my dream of 2-5 cm remains just that. Hugely disappointing given the synoptics.

And more just started - it was sunny when I posted, but now a fine swirling mist again, only this time falling in the traditional downwards-or-at-mild-angles style rather than going upwards :)
