Its been a fantastic day here with frequent snow showers. Took a walk with my daughter and the dog at Backmuir this afternoon. Here are a few pics she took. We managed to get quite close to a good number of Roe deer that could be seen more easily against the snow.

I had thought that when the wind turned more North Easterly and the temp fell to around -2C the showers would die out but that last one was a belter. [The last photo].

Now -2.6C with partly clear skies.

As often happens in an ENE type setup, we have two main shower tracks running, one Dundee/north Fife - Perth-Stirling, and the other one east neuk-Edinburgh-West Lothian-Glasgow. It looks to me like the south line will hit next followed by a north line, though perhaps with these merging to form a kind of super stream through Fife.

lets hope they do merge as i will be right in the firing line then

Nice cover here after frequent fun to watch showers through the day. 5cm on grass and a couple on hard surfaces. Very pleasant to see and great for light, non pain inducing snowballs in the afternoon! Looking forward to a walk in the next shower that hits.

-5/-7 so pretty cold atm. Can cover make it to the weekend I wonder?

Good news!....here in Crail snowshield is holding up well so far. It's cold, it's windy....but the showers continue to pass me by.

Stupidly slippy out there tonight, just dragged a car out of a field between Auchtermuchty and Dunshalt- difficult even to stand up on the road. None of the roads locally seem to have been gritted. -3 and snowing now. Be careful if you are driving tonight- difficult even in a tow truck with winters...

We don't even have 1 cm here yet, but the cover is like talcum powder and easily blown about. Truly very pure very non-marginal stuff.

BBC forecast talks about 'significant snow over the higher ground'. The current temperature is -1.5C here, uppers are -14C, where on earth does 'high ground' come into it????

Loads and loads of snow falling at Glenshee today for powder skiing everywhere you went. More than just a dusting of fresh snow in Moffat tonight too as these Easterly carried showers are pushing right across the Southern Uplands.

-3C just now and a stunning 1cm of lying snow - the most we've had all winter, and it'll all be gone by 9am if the sun rises (it usually does).
