If the second batch of showers currently over South Devon stay intact, these could hit a lot of the West Country as there are more organised than the scattered ones that are currently around the Bristol and Mendips area.

We have some sporadic sferic activity now, which admittedly I wasn't expecting, so things are looking good for a lot of us throughout this afternoon;

Had an achy head for the past hour or so and have just heard some distant rumbles. Absolutely piddling down again. I use to look at a website that had a map with thunder and lightning activity on when I used my pc but now use a laptop and i cannot remember what it was called, anyone know the site i mean?

Just got back from the Fire Station where we were supposed to be doing a charity car wash.... Had a flash of lightening, crash of thunder, huge hail storm that turned everything white, followed by snow and now have another hail shower!!

All within half an hour!! shok.gif

Cool. Plenty more of that kind of weather to come for many across the SW through the rest of the day too.

Good old spring convection.

Nasty cell just north east of Plymouth, possibly heading towards Princetown.

Just as I have read that it has starting snowing again!! I know you said it was going to be a mixed bag this weekend AWD, but I under estimated how mixed it was going to be!!

And I thought you ruled over the weather. I just wish I understood half of what those charts mean, one day I will focus more of my attention on understanding them. At least, I can the rest of the plain english spoken in here.

Things are looking good, oh I do love a bit of springtime convection. drinks.gif

Just had ahlf an hour of heavy rain, hail, thunder and lightning. Hail left the ground white for a while, now 'melting' in to the puddles.

Bit of a swing north on the showers over Devon now. Wondering if they will miss me and head into SE Wales instead?

Dark clouds looming, and it has gone very dark, just started to rain lightly...

I jumped the gun! Looks like it took a major swing north looking at the radar, as AWD says, and has gone off to Exmoor etc!

Seem to be flowing around the core of the depression with a dry gap across Somerset and up to Bristol.

Need the depression to move east a bit to move the flow of cells east too.

Sod all here as usual. Just a tiny shower which registered .2 of a mm. mega_shok.gif

But we did have 30mm yesterday and overnight and the road from Wool to Wareham was flooded this morning

Wish this stratocumulus and cumulus cloud would bugger off a bit. Sun is struggling to shine for any decent period of time and thus affecting cloud tops to build and convection to initiate.

Latest NAE still showing some convective rain, sleet and snow into this evening;

So I'll still give it a couple more hours yet but my confidence of seeing something IMBY has dropped now, cloudcover and lack of solar heating becoming an issue here.

Good to see parts of the SW got some action though.
