GFS showed this for days. BBC weather forecast hopelessly underestimated this.

Same here in Ealing! I was only expecting a few flurries today and maybe a temperature of 4C, but it feels much more wintry than that!

We have quite heavy snow falling.... sideways, here in Haywards Heath. Quite definitely not the sleet my MetO app is insisting it is. It's been on and off light snow all morning, but this is picking up pace and starting to settle on garden furniture and grass.

.... I wish I could be a little more enthusiastic about it.... Although that said, as much as I want the sun and some warmth, I'm still transfixed by it as it falls, I guess I'm not bored of snow yet!

Ok melting very quickly here now, soon as the flakes got bigger, what a difference a couple of months makes, even tho no Sun!

It's been snowing on and off all morning here, not settling though.

I've also had to have the lights on all day so far too - although the lead grey skies are showing signs of getting a tad lighter... fingers crossed!

What a mug! Just went out in it for at lunchtime walk (fresh air type) and it was totally freezing and snow grains covered me head to foot. I actually got no enjoyment from it and whilst it settled nicely on me, it is making no impact on the ground.

This half-hearted effort (albeit chucking down) without the fun that it gives after a good covering, better be the last of things as its becoming like a faded 80's popstar returning to a modern reality TV program - disappointing in hindsight and makes you wonder if they were really worth it first time around.

Hehe, been working outside all morning and its definitely freezing! Always nice to see snow falling but warm sun would be better

It was settling this morning but now it's all wet everywhere this lot having no effect.No white roofs anymore.
