monday

a chilly north easterly flow

after early morning rain clears

it should brighten up and then a trough to our north east could send some beefy afternoon showers down (maybe thundery)

temps around 17-19 degrees maybe a tad lower on east facing coasts

You could be right John, we shall see. I think the cool 850's from that low pressure system down to the southwest is interacting with the warmer 850's to the East, moisture gets ejected into the warmer upper atmosphere which is being pulled Westwards into the UK creating instability which increases the rainfall...which could cause embedded thunderstorms to appear.

Morning all. I won't say "Good" morning all, as it's cloudy and cool here.wink.png

It looks like we'll be spared the worst of any rain now on Saturday, as it seems as if it'll track to our north. The south of the region might get a half reasonable day.

From the Hi Res Model here:

post-11059-0-94722900-1368769563_thumb.p

Maybe the north of the region will do better on Sunday than the south though, as rain is expected there.

From GFS:

post-11059-0-23782000-1368769804_thumb.p

However it pans out and it'll most likely be somewhat different to shown, have a good weekend all and a good POETS day, if you can sneak off today!biggrin.png

Morning Steve, morning all.

GFS does have the wrost much further North this morning:

With a feature running across our region on Sunday:

Could be rain or showers in the South for more of Sunday than Saturday now:

Oh well, nothing we can do about it except break out the raincoats!

Morning All..  A sunny start been quickly replaced by clouds, they are starting to look showery. Yesterday we had a rare slot for some ballooning, with these 2 up.. The new Dispicable Me Movie 2 comes out soon and these two are launched to advertise it.. Spot the difference anyone?

Grey and cool in Surbiton and Uxbridge this morning. Glad to see tomorrow's rain has been pulled north as we are staying in Swanage for the weekend, although looks like a wet drive back on Sunday morning.

Got woken at 4.30 this morning by a crow making a sound like an alarm with the battery running out - cut right through my sleep for nearly an hour - would rather a pleasanter sounding bird could take up its morning chorus on the roof please!

Afternoon all. I was lucky enough to see 2 flashes of lightning and hear a few rumbles of thunder yesterday evening, at the end of what was a pleasantly warm and mostly sunny day in these here parts.

I have to agree with Coast, MK and SS in the posts above though. Today is just plain awful. 11c and sullen grey skies. sad.png

There better be a good Summer after all of this pain. I'm not ready for weeks more of this but realise it's totally out of my hands.

Just switched on the bloomin' heating and gone to check how much coal we have got in, as there is every chance I'll be lighting a fire tonight.  In the hearth, before anyone calls the brigade:

I'm not taking any responsibility in this particular instance, but I could take a guess at where responsibility lies......

Crap cloudy day here, but on the plus side, only have 22 minutes left at work and then it's the weekend!drinks.gif yahoo.gif
