Thundery downpours are on the cards for next Tuesday according to several sources. Fingers crossed, and apologies to those folk who don't like storms.

Hi all

Sorry still no full internet

Weekend looks good as does tomorrow

Only downside is we will probably only hve sunny intervals and not wall to wall sunshine

Temps likely to average between 18 to 20 degrees. People on east facing coasts may see lower temps Due to annoying cloudcover

Mon looks dry and around 18 degrees

Tues looks a tad tricky at present as at present I think it could stay dry and still warm around 20 degrees

Wed looks like a chance of southerly plume but too far for specifics

Hopefully back on line by saturday

After the rubbish we have had weatherwise recently I am happy with the outlook

Hope your all well

John

Morning all

A cloudy start here in Reigate but looking very promising for later today and then the next few days look pretty good as well, albeit with a bit more cloud and slightly less warm than today is forecast to be.  Having survived a cricket practice last night including my first ever experience of facing a bowling machine (at 70mph!) I am looking forward to a match tomorrow in a small Surrey village with the sun shining.   Now, if we can find a way of getting the bowling machine in to our side, we might have a chance....

Enjoy the day, watch out for sunburn (yes, you heard me right) and begin the countdown to the weekend!Posted Image

Mornin each. Did someone say.......sun at the weekend? I sincerely hope so, like MK I'm ready for some sun and warmth.

It's been a wretched week and I need cheering up, as do most of us I should think. I'm sitting near the open window and it feels downright chilly here in Naaaarich. And it's dull. :(

Happy POETS day to you, MK and to everyone. :) Take care.

Morning to all,

Still grey and cloudy here on the Kent/London border, sure it wont belong before those brighter skies being reported further north, encroach into this area.

Looks set fair for a fine weekend now, not sure we're in for blazing sunshine but should be pleasant enough, temps around the high teens or so.

Should be a nice day up on Epsom Downs for the fillies classic this afternoon (The Oaks). Have no idea who's going to win, as I'm banned from looking at a fillies form now. That particular avenue of pleasure being closed off, many moons ago. Posted Image

I know nothing!

Hope you all have a lovely day, POETS or whatever.

Regards,

Tom. Posted Image

Morning all,

Haven't a clue what the weather is currently like as I am working from the broom cupboard today (different office, no windows Posted Image )

I took my chance and left home without a coat this morning - wasn't too cold on the commute and today I am working a stones throw away from London Bridge train station, so a nice short walk from the train to the office  (no, I am not 90 floors up in The Shard!)

I think I may have asked this before, but what does POETS day stand for?  I am guessing it's something to do with it nearly being the weekend?

Have a nice day all - let's hope we all see some sun as the day goes on Posted Image

POETS day is a term used by workers in the United Kingdom and Australia, to jocularly refer to Friday as the last day of the work week. The letters in "POETS" are an acronym for "Tut Off Early Tomorrow's Saturday": hence Friday becomes a Poet's day.Posted Image

PS The forum bad word checker has changed something to Tut, however I am sure you can work it outPosted Image

The sun has just put in an appearance in Reigate and the cloud cover is developing what I can only describe as 'gaps', currently reading 14.6c on my amateur weather station.  Wind is a bit annoying still but the signs are promising!

Just having a quick break, really buzzy in the office today, very busy, hence its taken an hour to eat my cheese and bacon Panini, which was congealed and cold by the time I'd finished it. Big race days tend to be like this!

Very nice here in Croydon at the moment and TV pictures reveal a lovely afternoon, up on Epsom Downs, for the fillies classic at 4.00 p.m.

Expecting a big run from Moth, as long as no one switches the lights on in the Grandstand, which could result in her swerving right across the course and into the crowd.

I'll get my coat!

Btw, that's not a tip, just an excuse for a stupid pun!

Hope you're all having a lovely afternoon.

Regards,

TomPosted Image

Well it made me lol Tom so I thank you for that sir.

It took until about midday for the cloud to start breaking up allowing glimpses of the sun here, but the afternoon is proving to be very acceptable, especially so given the last few days of muck. Have a great weekend folks.
