After making a couple of posts in other sections of the forum, thought it would be good to pop in this lovely thread and say hello!

It's been a fantastic start to meteorological summer, and although temperatures have been quite average, it certainly feels like summer with the strength of the sun! If I was being picky then I'd like there to be less of a breeze, but apart from that no complaints from me. Another fairly decent weekend coming up, with temperatures between 16-20C.

Looking at the models, we begin to pick up more of southerly source of air as we enter the new week, so temperatures could be pushing 25C by next Thursday.

Finish my exams by the end of next week, so hopefully there will still be some decent weather to enjoy once I've finished!

Today was the first proper warm sunny day of this high pressure spell even though it was only actually 18c, just goes to show how poor its been in recent years that i get happy about 18c, tomorrow it's back to that horrible easterly wind again

Yes John, this early tropical storm could throw everything up in the air re. early Summer weather patterns imo.

Definitely v early. I think I can remember a TS in late May though, although the first storm of the record breaking 2005 season had yet to develop by now, I think.

i think your right

if we look at these

hopefully it will head to our north

this could draw up some pretty warm air for us

that would be heat and storms

if we have to have rain at least that adds a bit of interest to it

model watching has got interesting again Posted Image

The NW forecast mentioned the showers..I should have read this on the day like I normally do!

I didn't look at any forecast yesterday during the day.

Not forgetting the convection thread itself, plenty of discussion in there.

Good morning.

A continuation of sunshine here in Sussex and still a few days more to come I think according to GFS. Tuesday might start to get cloudy and I'm still not convinced about storms for us just yet, but I'll pop something in the convective thread.

Morning Posted Image Thought it was about time I came out of hibernaton, if only to moan about how ruddy cold that blasted NE'ly is! The sun might be shining but the air is cold, and I am seriously fed up with the wind, which seems to have been stuck where it is since February.....

Cloudy here this morning and if I'm not mistaken the sky has that thundery look about it! Dorset area has a tasty storm heading their way:

Lovely warm sunshine here again....I will be doing the grocery shopping early today to get back from the supermarket and into the garden so hopefully it will last into the afternoon.
