A cell is over Stoke at the moment. Only thunder and some torrential downpours.

Big black clouds skirted just to the north of the Malverns leaving us dry and sunny. Posted Image

Ran stopped...and the sun broke through for a minute. Wonder if it's breaking up? Still a lot of heavy looking clouds around...although quite messy in structure.

Still lots more to come I'm sure.

Flaming Heck! Mother of all downpours since my last post and we weren't even in the core of it. A few distant-ish rumbles of thunder and my back yard has a sizeable pool of water near the back door.

Latest radar revealed what happened.

We found a very small gap in the precipitation as it passed over. Was weakening anyway. One bit near Wolverhampton stayed fairly strong. Bad luck with this lot then..another lot on the way, hopefully more luck with that one.

It all seems too messy. Very pulse type. Just the odd sferic here and there.

Typically April showers, but in July :) Nice looking CBs poking about, some north some due south...few overhead!

It's ridiculous, that stuff over mid Wales is just dying at the Shropshire border, and kicking off again over Staffs. Yet the North Wales stuff is keeping going in Cheshire, after crossing much higher mountains.

So you don't remember the huge storm in 1995? or more recent storms 2008, 10 ?

There weren't any storms here in 2010, only a couple of small ones in 2008. June 19th 2005 was the last big one.

Thundery shower intercept currently N of Wolverhampton, W Cannock way - small and grumbly, moving away pretty sharpish.

Quite a messy affair today, something you'd expect in early to mid Spring to be honest. Ah well, few deep rumbles couple of flashes, RTB :)

May scrape Stafford this...
