Hmmm, a couple of distant rumbles but nothing more yet.........I think the lions share is passing just to our east perhaps.

Hi everyone...

First 'outing' since the winter snow.

Can here thunder closing in from the SE.

It looks as though the Northamptonshire cell is expanding and moving N Westerly.

Been a bit of drizzle here but no real rain (Yet)

Looks like it could get very heavy later.

Stay safe everyone.

We actually got a direct hit from this storm, not the usually 'missed by 10 miles' jobbie :-)

Looks like it's starting to stop a bit now though, still, it's been worth the anticipation for once :-P

Yes here too CH.Looks like a bit of a gap on the radar but plenty of activity just to our S.E.

Plenty of rain widely now across the region.

My poor dad is terrified of flying and makes his way to East Midlands Airport from Mallorca tonight. Might be a bumpy one for him.

Dubious but Dads friends has measured 30mm rain in 30 minutes at Coventry, also this Wunderground reports 39mm past hour!

As Dancer says its hammering down here now...

Thanks Bish, I will try and respond a bit more, but  I do enjoy reading your comments and between you and Dancer most of the Solihull comments are covered.

I do have a new weather station giving me wind speeds (zero at the moment!) and rainfall rates so I could be active tonight.

I noticed the BBC forcast spoke of strong gusts of winds in the Midlands area this evening as the centre of the developing low moves north over us.  We will see.

Evening all!!!

Nothing too much to report from Nottingham at the moment, had a burst of heavy rain about an hour ago, and the skies have gone pretty dark now, cant really say I can hear any rumbling, and no real rain to speak of at the moment.

Just had a look at rain today and it looks as though the heavier, more exciting stuff is passing to the west of me, however, there looks to be some more juicy stuff coming after this initial lot so fingers crossed that will hit me :)  (not literally though, already had my house struck twice before knocking out the telly once and the phone another time!!!  Am earthed now so hopefully it won't 'strike a third time!!)

Oh great- Brum eastwards is having all the fun again, while we just have boring light rain in Shrewsbury. Again and again.....

You would think we would be used to it now, but no always a disapointment

Flood reports Coventry area? Seen some photos of it on twitter. Must be quite severe if over an inch in half hour or so!
