Seems to have maxed now:

Brize Norton 30.0 °C
Charlwood 32.9 °C
Gravesend  33.0 °C
Heathrow  31.6 °C
Herstmonceux 30.3 °C

Hottest day of the year so far then? Not bad as it didn't have a run up to it like the previous ones last month.

Yes, I see Southend has now recorded 33C (or 32.5C+) This day has been a slow burner, but very impressive nonetheless. Posted Image

Currently 33c here at 5.25pm, despite a fairly strong breeze and high cloud turning the sunshine hazier for a while. Some remarkably high temperatures along the South Coast given the strong onshore breezes down there.

Nearly 34C here so I think the previous hot day may have been beaten at Heathrow. Strong wind but its a hot breeze, haven't felt that here for a while lol.

Certainly feels a lot warmer away from the coast and the above temperature confirms it!!

I saw some reports saying that this July was the driest ever recorded (after about 20 days of the month)

Does this mean that this August will be the warmest month ever recorded in the UK? Posted Image

It maxed out at 30.2c in Brighton at 5pm..slowly going down, standing at 28.9c now. Incredible, as you say, the breeze is very strong and whipping the trees around quite fiercely.

Capel le Ferne on top of a 470 foot cliff reaches 29.2c, Folkestone reaches between 30.1 near the coast to at least 31c in the north of the town. Langdon bay radar reaches at least 28c and Brighton apparently reaches 30c. All with a wind gusting at about 20mph straight off the sea. Its sensational. You inland folk probably wont appreciate what im talking about.
