I'm not good with cloud types... You may have realised Posted Image

Yeah a cumulonimbus cloud has to be more developed than that by about 2 times with an anvil. :D

Narrowed it down to 2 weather stations, whats peoples view on the Oregon WMR88 or WL301? Really want to make the correct decision, but no experience of any weather stations.

I've just been shocked by the radar, completely different to yesterday's forecasts.  The BBC had Southern counties getting the heaviest of the rain and that it would be raining by 9am. Posted Image Posted Image

It's currently bright and 14C.

Yes I've had a bonus morning of work with it being dry and bright most of the time, pouring down now though! It seems the forecast yesterday evening was about 5 hours and 50 miles out through the morning.

A complete cock-up as far as the forecasts were concerned. Apart from some light rain, it brightened up with bits of blue sky here and there. Currently 17.2C

A look at the next week or so in brief from Ian;

"W COUNTRY Another wet/windy phase developing Thurs, esp middle of day, but then dry & settled Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon & possibly much of next week. As ridging grows more dominant into weekend, expect fairly warm days (upper teens C) but chilly nights with fog/low cloud into AM with any fog/low cloud tending to clear by late AM leaving successive days of variable cloud/sunshine; light winds. Rate of return to more unsettled pattern next week remains a key uncertainty; perhaps most likely towards/into nxt weekend.

Quite a surprising downpour around 06.30 this morning as the occlusion drifted S/SE but now an increasingly sunny day.

Just posted this in the lounge, but it is South and technically weather related as low cloud was the reason for the miss at the weekend.http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZJ6OXJHdGHk

Saw that on Points West on Monday John, hilarious really but could have been very dangerous!

Looking at both of those weather stations it looks like a very intense downpour hit the area but that is not a squall line. A squall line contains high winds, nowhere does any of those weather stations show high winds.
