Went outside in the rain, cold and wet is all here!! No more lightning yet and the booming noise is planes to heathrow...

Just had that band pass here, intermitent lightning every 2/3 minutes. Not bad at all ill take it!

Quite an evening and I don't think it's over yet.

 

It started with frequent flashes of lightning, with clear skies and stars visible above. That went on for some 30-40 minutes, then kaboom, the storm suddenly arrived. Torrential rain and booming thunder for about 15 minutes. If you like thunderstorms ( and I do ), you just can't beat a night time lightning display. Posted Image

Been quiet here since 9pm. Drier currently though some showers to the SW on the radar have sprung from no-where. Rainfall this evening from the two heavy downpours/thunderstorms is 8.5mm

Hmmm... nice looks like the lot over portsmouth,  Has now linked the tail end of the existing one,Looking like a much bigger cell.?
