Morning All, hope all your hangovers are little ones, let's hope for a happy and prosperous new year for all. Hope you had a great time last night, must admit it was very quiet around our little area, first time I can remember no fireworks or people walking / dancing / falling over outside either, most strange. Me and the wife managed to down a bottle off champagne to celebrate all the arrivals and departures of last year, and raised a glass to all our friends scattered over the world. Seems funny that the ones in America are going to bed after a drunken night but the ones in Australia are approaching the end of the first day of 2014.

2013 well what can you say about it, I think overall I am pleased its over with, work wise had better years, Infact 2014 should be a cracker, little Eva arrived late which was a hi light, no marriages but a split up and a coming together of 2 old friends in the family equalled that side out. 2 deaths and 2 births again keeps the number similar, so I think you can say after reflection it was fairly average year.

2014, works look good, a set of identical twins due to be born, wife's 60 th birthday meal in February, funny how you know some things but the bad things are hidden away. I hope that for you lot out there in cyber space, who hopefully are becoming good mates (unless you don't like the dribble I occasionally come up with then I hope we are at least friends) have an outstanding 2014 and you get everything that your heart wishes, including, snow, a Thames streamer, good health and if you want it prosperity. May you all have a successful 2014 (from a personel point can you, whoever you are hurry up and take over Charlton, and can the English cricket team find some fight, and my final wish is not to upset her indoors, but unfortunately that one crashed in flames around a minute past midnight)

Morning all hope you have a good evening yesterday and a Happy New Year to you all too.  We didn't do too much last night, a few drinkies with the hubby and the dog.  The girls came downstairs just before midnight to see in the new year with us and then after the fireworks on the tellybox it was off to bed.  There was no revelry outside either, the rain kept all the neighbours off the streets.

 

2013 has had it's ups and downs like any year.  I spent the second half of the year not working due to family reasons.  We lost a family member,and my husband and daughter have had health issues, but we've made the best of what life threw at us, enjoyed some family events and got totally immersed in the 50th DW anniversary celebrations.  Hoping to return to work in the spring of 2014 after my daughter's major operation at the end of January.  We have a couple of 'dos' coming up and I have a big event in May which I am really looking forward to.  So from my perspective the year can only get better.

 

Bring on 2014 and bring on the new Doctor I say.

Happy New Year to all. Just started raining here but luckily I had time to take the doggies out and cut a few logs for the woodburner. Wind is picking up too. All in all an underwhelming start to the new year, but at least it can only get better.

No fuzzy head here which surprises me especially as I was woken at half three by people in the road outside shouting "come on then" and "no, just leave it" Got up to look as there were also many colourful words being shouted to see my car being used as the leaning post for a guy being held back from lumping someone else. The held back one decided he'd had enough and started to walk away and the other one came for him from behind to knock him to the ground and start kicking him :-( Picked up phone to call the police and a van of them arrived before I could type the first 9! They promptly rounded everyone up and dispersed and arrested accordingly so I could go back to sleep. I just wonder if these people wake up and regret their actions today or they look back and think it was a good night out?

Anyway, onto more weathery and therefore interesting things...

Another spell of unsettled weather is expected on Friday with further wet and windy conditions likely across western areas in particular. Tides will be very high, and the public should be aware of the risks of large waves and coastal flooding.

A developing Atlantic low pressure system is expected to move northeastwards just to the west of Scotland on Friday. This will push further bands of locally heavy rain across the UK and winds will gust to around 50-60 MPH over coasts and hills. Whilst this is not especially strong, lowering pressure will combine with high tides around the UK coastline and bring the risk of some flooding.
