Grey out today and from the forecasts looks to be dry today here with a little shower later tonight and then dry Sun and most of next week.

Hope we get some dry weather, just to dry everything out and so I can get past the mud in the garden to start getting the veg plots ready.

We had 28mm yesterday in total, just 1mm today early morning, 123mm for the year.

Morning all. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but there is a great article on the BBC news web page about the suns declining activity and possibly heading towards a Maunder Minimum. Well worth a read especially if you are a coldie like me.

9C and dry at the moment. The rain situation is still unfolding at the moment, a lot of the models are quite different to what the radar is showing coming out of France.

Looking at the radar to the south, looks like Purbeck could be in line for that shower activity, about 1pm I reckon

It looks like it'll pass just west of me, maybe some drizzly bits soon, might have to wait until later unless there a slight shift east.post-15177-0-12414700-1390049723_thumb.p

From what I could make out it has been moving East, as well as obviously North.

More like 2pm tho

Lashing it down, here, in Dartmouth.

We've beat a retreat to the Royal Castle Hotel bar and tucking into a bottle of red.

All of a sudden it's gone dark, and started hissing down. Mind you, not bad we've had a clear day until now!

Just had 6.2mm from a reasonable cloudburst. 186mm for the month. I'm willing the rain on now, it may as well going out on a record.

So far today, we've only caught the very edge of one of the lines of rain and it's produced a teaspoonful in the gauge.  Hope it holds out like that for the rest of the evening and night, but I doubt it.

Feeling much the same as Mapantz about at least getting some sort of record out of all this dross!  Definitely going to be the wettest January since 2000, but need a drop more to beat last month's total to be wettest month of any name in the same time.

Been a lot of rain here today, seems to have been on and off all day, but being very heavy when it does fall!
