The wind is getting up again here - the chimney is telling me so. After the last few weeks I've learned to guess the gust speed from the noise the fireplace makes!

It's been so quiet here today - after a lovely mackerel sky this morning it's been overcast but little rain/wind.....almost like the land was waiting for something.

EA have just rung to say expect very heavy rain between 4am and 9am which could cause problems for smaller "flash" watercourses like mine.

Off to move the car to higher ground.....it's the early warning system for the neighbours!

Looking at the forecast on BBC news, and the radar I think for our region it will be a short lived band of heavy rain followed by showers (I hope it will be anyway), just quite windy again till it calms down middle of the week.

Minus five in the MK Snowzone was bad enough this afternoon and really bought home the memories of last year when we had cold days and nights.

Perfect :-) hope you had a nICE time in Xscape - at least the Snowzone isn't too far away for me to get a fix - we are making do with watching Ski Sunday at the moment and finishing off the Chringlemas choccies before the post Christmas and pre Holiday diet starts tomorrow !!

Christmas packed away til December. Glad to see the rain here is going to be short lived and hopefully the winds are not much above 40mph, if that.

Yes was very nice, they still had the decorations up in the Xscape building, however when we went across to the shopping centre there was not a trace of a decoration and even the display had gone.

Looking at the window I think it must be raining or blowing in the wind as there are drops on the window.

Your one of a falling number of people with real trees, one thing I always hated was having to get rid of it afterwards (and the shed needles everywhere), mine just goes back in the box (that said it has not been used for the last two times).

I love a real tree - I'll always get one!

Taking down the lights outside earlier I noticed our garden is still like a bog, even on the slightly higher side. Luckily no real flooding round here though.

shows light rain just gone

heavier rain enroute from warm front

the bit behind will depend on track but could be heavier with winds picking up

also troughs need watching as well

could get a tad gusty later and wet

Had to have our fantastic dog put to sleep today and suddenly the search for cold dose not seem so important.

We are going to miss her so much as we loved her like one of the family.  R.I.P Cassie.

Shotski.
