So many short memories locally here, moaners on Facebook and other sites re this Bank Holiday weather.

It's actually the only wet Bank Holiday Monday this year (Easter Monday and the 2 in May were all fine and warm) and is the worst weather day since Wednesday 4th June which is a very long time without a washout day. There was considerably more rain on Saturday 19th July, but that was all from thunderstorms.

Goodness, Mapantz, you've had considerably more rain than we have.  5.1mm to 09.00 GMT and then another 12.6mm to 15.00 today, it's stopped completely now, but expecting a few more showers later.

Now been raining non stop for 20 hours: lots of that fine soaking stuff but also some heavy bursts, particularly this evening. Temp below 15C all day too. Can't remember even August 2008 having a day as foul as today.

Well the sun did eventually come out at teatime and was out for most of the rest of the day so not a total loss - at least the roads were dry by the end of the day. 15.5mm of rain so not the wettest this month but a good dousing nonetheless.

Still going here! Over 24 hours now, that fine soaking stuff again.

Missed it here but heavy downpours gave 14.8mm overnight. So far with 132mm its only the wettest August since 2012 (159mm).

We went in the 'warm' sector last night, min 13.9c!

A total of 15.9mm yesterday and another 5.4mm today.

This morning is grey damp and gloomy temperature 13.7C with a moderate NE wind gusting to 13.2mph, pressure is 1006mb.

Looking at the radar is seems that the rain has now passed and the cloud should start to clear to give a brighter and sunny end to the day.

You beat me to it :D then again 74.5mm for Aug, if 'I Remember Atlantic 252mm' had anything to do with it, Stafford would have them stats most days ;) Edited by Dancerwithwings

I had no more rain after the main front cleared yesterday, so 30.4mm it stayed at.

3.8mm this morning. Currently there's a few sunny spells and it's 17.5°C

I've had more rain from downpours overnight than the actual front yesterday - was not expecting that going by forecasts!
