We continue to miss the rain, as usual in these kind of set-ups: 40 mm at Glasgow in the last 24 hrs, 23mm at Edinburgh, 2mm at Leuchars and I don't think there was enough to even wet the ground here in Crail.

All still to play for in terms of the models. Christmas looks cool/frosty but mostly dry then it's game on. GFS 0z op run looks good this morning for Northern Scotland with a potent northwesterly setting in behind the storm. If I was HC, NL, Ravelin etc. I'd be banking that run.

So much variation on model outcomes. Very confused to be honest. Nice to see we are going to have a frosty Christmas. Storm looks nasty any update on track? Snow prospects ?

Finally the rain has stopped. Only took about 24 hours or so ;) Was heavy and relentless since about half past 4 yesterday afternoon

OK ignore that. Brief lull I guess as it's back on

Kilmarnock seems to be bearing the brunt of the flooding in Ayrshire today.

total chaos there today...water 5ft deep in places. Hopefully the water will get any higher have a lot of exp stock on the forecourt.

I saw a photo looking over from The Range over to B&Q and Asda etc. Looking at road signs on the road round the side of Asda. 5ft sounds about right.

I take it your in one of the three garages down there?

Yes the big garage..lol. not allowed to use name in social media or forums. Service manager had to get rescued too..must have been ok at 6 ish when he got there. All staff told not to go in...I drove from Irvine at 0820 and realised on the dual carriageway that there was something not quite right..amount of rain water was unusual. Anyhow tide coming in at Irvine high tide at 1200 ish not good news

It's been raining all morning too so I would imagine it will get slightly worse before it gets better.

Hopefully your High enough to stay dry!

Yep, East Ayrshire certainly forked out more on their Snow shield than they did on the flood defences

Yes water level was as high as our embankment !!

The A76, A71 and through Crookedholm are all now closed.

I'm running out of options on ways to get home without a big detour :unsure2:

Afternoon Peeplings! Well, bit of a change in temp today, currently 4c and we have even had a tiny touch of blue sky! Looks to improve for the rest of the week, depending on what forecast you look at. Xmas day looks like it'll be a corker, and possibly a bit stormy come the weekend. Anyone's guess what'll happen after that though, all forecasts I've looked at are definitely not singing from the same hymn sheet!

Afternoon All,   After a "relatively" mild weekend.  9 degrees yesterday,  it has got decidedly chillier here in Aberdeen.      Had a quick dip in the MT and the mood appears to be as volatile as the models so dipped back out again...

Hope everyone is set for a cold and frosty  ( maybe white )  Xmas !  :smiliz19:

Despite the rain yesterday, it didn't feel too cold. Today is a different matter though

A bookies White Christmas is looking possible for Inverness - I know a few of you put money on that and I think you might just sneak a win through the back door - it'll be cold enough for wintry precipitation and a small amount looks likely in the very early hours of Christmas day.

That'll make it...4 out of the last 6.

Hi peeps, is there a problem with the netweather server, cant seem to access it properly through my favourites button, it comes out all gobbledook.

Meanwhile after the deluge of last night things are drying out a tad and temp starting to drop.
