I think quite a few places above 100m will see some snow this evening/overnight.

I do agree with this, not just cause I'm 100m up! but because of the temperatures that are being recorded are already lower than predicted....

Temps seem to be dropping off over Ireland in the last hour or so.

Possibility of some snow for us on higher ground this evening as that band of ppn moves through?

cloudy here now in Bangor. Rain not too far away I think.

Let's hope we see some of the white stuff this next week or so.

Hope so!

A re run of the snow we had in 2012 would be good!

Would be nice to get some north channel steamers off the N / NW wind, and any frontal snow would be ideal!

Had a couple of incredible hail and thunder showers this afternoon. If only we could build hailmen! Cars struggling to get up the hill right now!

No point at this stage, it's way to far out to even draw a rough line between rain/snow

Fair enough :) Just like imagining being buried under a foot of snow even if it isn't going to happen. Good job I'm planning on moving to Canada in the next few years :p

There's a good analysis here from the BBC about what's happening early next week http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/feeds/30824978?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_weather&ns_source=twitter&ns_linkname=news_central

Notice how they mention the front coming off the Atlantic probably won't have enough 'energy' to displace the cold air and allow mild air through.

Haw haw haw. References also being made in the MOD thread to Wales doing particularly well.

I really do feel bad for our long-suffering Southwestern friends, though. Perhaps we should share some of our (potential) snow with them?
