White rabbits!

I really hope something does crop up soon, it's turning out to be one of the biggest disappointments since 2010, where we also had to wait nearly 2 weeks into the cold spell to see meaningful lying snow.

I mean, seriously, how can Siberia get snow when it's 2000 miles away from the coast and here we are 100 miles from the coast and no moisture can ever seem to reach us?

Nobody has every been able to explain that.....it's witchcraft I tell ya! WITCHCRAFT! *cackles in deranged way that only snow-starved Midlanders have a right to* :-P

Just had a few flakes falling here, almost graupel. They didn't melt, they evaporated, must be low humidity?

Dew points are very low, dry very cold airmass. I believe it enhances sublimation.

That's what happened here, got a little moderate just for a few short minutes, as soon as they hit the ground they disappeared :nonono:

Come again  Had to Google that one.,  'Sublimation is the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas phase without passing through the intermediate liquid phase'

Exactly it is instantaneous almost, the best snow events usually happen when dew points are just below 0 as there is more moisture. :D Greater dew point the dryness also increases. March 2013 is a good example.

Having another micro-flurry of snow here, our second within the past hour.

Nothing is sticking, but pretty to watch nonetheless.

Topped up the bird feeders here too. Can feel a different more intense sort of cold setting in for tonight, so have high hopes for a proper frost.

Chicken going in the oven soon. Yum, yum.

As expected now uppers/dewpoints/conditions are ideal for the first time this winter over the next few days any precipitation could not be further away if it tried .

Pleasant sunny few days, frosty nights, 3-5c days but all a bit bland.
