Starting now to think about the slider low being modelled on GFS and ECM for monday 2 Feb, this is still FI but GFS is modelling it too far SW for snow this region

I think 06Z has modelled it a bit further NE, ECM modelling it even further NE, so far ahead may not even exist at all but possible snowfest if we get shifts NE

Shaky.... "Oh yes!" the NNM'S back this up for heavy snow showers Tomorrow you can see a rash of showery activity as the day progresses

From rain an hour ago straight to snow! Just had a snow shower here, even though it's around 5oC. Blowing a gale, too.

According to GFS data, from Monday until Wednesday next week dew points, wet bulb and 850 temps are favourable for snow for the whole of the Midlands. All we need is some precipitation, and therein lies the potential snag.

Edit: just had a couple of snow flurries.

The temperature is stubbornly refusing to budge much at the moment, still wobbling either side of 5.5°C. But the dew point has really plummeted, now down to -2.5°C

Currently sunny here.

Unfortunately aside the usual suspects eg derbyshire peaks etc I cant see us fairing that well as a region as a whole re snow in this kind of set up however as the cold digs in somebody could be in for a pleasant surprise & it wouldn't take much for our region to become more favourible. Get the cold and at least thats one battle won
