Rather than squabbling why don't you look at the radar and see all these lovely showers coming through the Cheshire gap setting up what looks to be sa streamer , early days but certainly looks like getting lively .

It's not beyond the realms of possibilities is it ? Just stop freting and enjoy the winter weather we'v waited 2 years

Right now, a totally clear and moonlit sky but still with a (very, very) light snow shower. Those flakes must have been blown a long way, as I can't see clouds anwhere!

Showers popping up all over the place now, maybe it's gonna be one of those types of snowfalls?

That's why i'm telling people not to worry about PPN charts at such short range.

From past experience if these kind of setups, I have seen snow showers penetrate way inland when PPN charts suggested they wouldn't.

That is what i'm expecting tonight and tomorrow. Plus with showers, they can crop up anywhere.

Let's not moan about this cold spell until it's over. If by then anyone in here got naff all, you are entitled to moan all you like!

I love it when that happens! It was doing it here earlier under clear skies. Reminds me of my hometown Lowestoft when we would get strong northerlies delivering heavy snow showers down the east coast. The snow would start falling long before the cloud arrived!

less than 150m, ECM seems to bring an interesting setup with monday's low? has it seemingly in a snowy position, where as GFS has it miles too far west

Birmingham is at 120m and it snowed today and here in solihull also around the 120m mark you'll never guess!!! IT SNOWED

Yes the ECM is SNOW SNOW SNOW but thats next week :good:

Looking at the RADAR (snow not rain) popping up in a few places now :p

there will be a few light showers, but I certainly expect no real lying snow at low levels, and milder thursday night through to Fri night

Looks like the Welsh mountains are actually spawning snow showers instead of stealing them. Just goes to show you cannot forecast snow, just the parameters.

Can we quote you on that? :-D

We have thundersnow here now too!!!! Just seen a flash and heard a big rumble.

Oh, wait hold on... Sorry, false alarm. It was a neighbour putting the bins out and our security light coming on.
