When I checked the radar at 06.30 I thought I would get an hour of work done before getting soaked, however the front seemed to break up and lost intensity over this area, something reviewing the radar has just proven to me. A few hours of showery light/moderate rain made me a bit wet then I dried out in the last hour which had plenty of sunny spells!

Yet another ice scraper this morning, so April 2015 leaves us with a frosty reminder...

Presently 10.9°C climbing rapidly from the overnight low.

Only down to 4.6c here and not a single Air Frost was had during April as a whole. Only 8.3c now but with blue skies and some floating stratus. Looking like a warmer than average month (1.1c above the norm) and a very dry one at that as predicted. Now, what of May?

An interesting morning out working in Trowbridge watching various showers decay as they approached from the Bristol Channel. Plenty of sunshine and a fresh WNW wind continuing now.

It's the temp and feel that gets me today, Andy. It is cold and raw.

I have to go back to April 2nd to compare a day like this.

What's all that precipitation on the radars then? Doesn't look much like drizzle either, any reports?

A few pimples have reached the ground as I discovered when doing a bit of gardening but much of it must be evaporating due to the dry air and low humidity. We've had 'lightbulb' sun for much of the day shining through the various high cloud types.

Ah I see, weirdly there were yellows, greens and blue precipitation returns on the netweather radar at one point so your explanation sounds spot on.

Very little of the precipitation reached the round here either, just enough tot dampen the ground.  Have to agree with Mapantz that it's been a cold and raw day.  Temp did manage to get to 15.1°C very briefly before dropping back to 11.5°C as the drizzle came down.

In the space of two days, today has gone from a washout to just overcast. There looks like some rain during sleep hours, but once again, terrible forecasting.

10.8°C windy, and overcast.

Agree. The weather can make fools even out of the pros. Todays rain is going south and west of the region.
