Just popping back to yesterday and what I was saying about the north coast.

Amazing cloud over #Bristol Channel at 1130am 15/4. Lovely day in south of UK. #MODIS sensor http://rapidfire.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/imagery/subsets/?project=other&subset=United_Kingdom_Ireland.2015105.terra.1km â€¦

A few spots of rain recently from a thin band of convective cloud. Sunny either side though.

20.7°C now, still with blue skies. They underestimated the temps down here, and the amount of cloud.

Likewise here.  20.8°C here a few minutes ago and just a few small fair weather cumulus.  Actually feels warmer than yesterday's max which was 1° up on today's.

A few very big drops of rain early this morning and again mid pm. Looked just a tad thundery earlier (I doubt the cloud was glaciated enough for it though). All this despite it feeling much fresher today. Still to record any thunder here for 2015..

It could be that shower that's now delivered quite a heavy shower across Peasedown St John south of Bath. No thunder though but it does vaguely mimic a July night after 30C during the day with those really big spots of rain and that smell of freshly fallen rain on warm surfaces. I'm sure had it been July there would be a lot more sferics than currently.

The skies are about as blue as you can get! But, it's blowing an absolute hoolie! Fishing was out of the question, too rough on the coast.

Currently 14.5°C

Only thing that the strong wind was good for today was drying several loads of washing!

I was amused by people commenting that it was 'freezing' at football yesterday! These people clearly saw the blue sky and bright sunshine and continued to wear their shorts and t-shirts as they had during the high teen and low 20c days earlier in the week! Sunshine and 13c with a fresh Easterly is not 'freezing', but then I knew what was expected and was perfectly comfortable with jeans as well as a jumper and thin jacket over my t-shirt!

Again today is looking to be quite similar; therefore people are clearly going to recognise to wear thicker clothes. Again tomorrow temperatures expected to rise to 17-18'c with bright sunshine so people will be complaining that it's too hot; can't win! :fool:

Well much better today compared to what I expected. I was imagining slate grey skies and temperatures struggling to 10C, instead it's sunny with broken cloud with a temperature already of 11.7C. Still chilly in the breeze.

As has already been mentioned it's much brighter than I was expecting today with sunny spells but cloud is increasing but far from dull skies.

Indeed. Enjoyed a nice walk on Wavering Down this morning and now a gorgeous sunny afternoon, 18C. Shame it's going to turn unsettled just as the weekend arrives but I am looking forward to some traditional sunshine and showers days.

Another stunningly glorious day here too.  Wall to wall sunshine and an afternoon max of 19.2°C.  Lovely walk up and around the Cerne Abbas Giant this afternoon hoping to see the Red Kite that has been seen by my OH twice over the weekend.  Needless to say it was not cooperating this afternoon. :wallbash:
