WTF. Watching last nights local weather, rain was the word, after midday, and lots.

WTF, not a drop, in fact glorious sunshine now.

Bad forecasting is the word of the day, no doubt.

One of them is going to be wrong. The Euro4 is rather different to the other two, and the BBC and MetO are going with the Euro4's rain according to their forecasts..

This morning brought 16mm of rain in 3 to 4 hours, the most in one 24 hour period since 22-23 February!

Much balmier now the sun is breaking through.

More rain this month already (22.8mm) than the whole of April (15.4mm).

14.6mm fell yesterday, much of that being orographically enhanced drizzle as it hit the coast and hills around Lyme Bay.

8.2mm since midnight.

Temp peaked at 17.9c just now.

In contrast, only 4mm here Andy. The rain must have taken a more central-England route overnight. Looks like some decent shower activity setting up now in this muggier airmass.

In the space of two days, today has gone from a washout to just overcast. There looks like some rain during sleep hours, but once again, terrible forecasting.

10.8°C windy, and overcast.

A lot of people got a lot of rain yesterday not far from you so just because the local factors meant you didn't get the rain doesn't mean the forecast was terrible

10.7mm here to 09.00GMT, highest 24 hour total since 19th February.  Considerably warmer now, thank goodness, and the showers are scudding to the NW of us at the moment.

Nothing to do with local factors. The graphics were completely wrong, they were nowhere near what the radar reflected. I'm not sure why you said a lot of people got a lot of rain not far from me?

This is 1pm 3pm and 6pm yesterday. Just a few bits of drizzle..

The BBC graphics in a forecast during the early hours of yesterday morning, showed a lot of rain covering the South from midday >  (As Dorsetbred mentioned)

Hmm, unless some of these cells build more on the western side, I can see most of any activity missing here. Showers really getting going now with a sferic recently showing towards Wiltshire. Sun is out and feeling warm.

I can see a tasty ole storm out West right now, should hit Newbury/Andover area within next fifteen minutes or so, likely to produce first sferics and Thunder of the season for me.

As I've mentioned over the convective discussion, more likely the worst of the showery outbreak will hit A34 region North of Newbury towards Oxford region, very shortly.

Looks like my best bet may still be to come. Showers more to the west now after the more easterly situation of earlier ones. Have had some intense downpours though and really does feel stuffy.

A fun few hours between 12.30-14.30 with spectacular lines of CBs, several intense downpours, some warm sunshine and best of all plenty of thunder and lightning to the North of where we were at Westbury White Horse.

A further 10mm this afternoon so 26mm today means more rain fell than the whole of April in about 10 hours.

Zilch rainfall and Thunder from the showers but 8.6mm did fall overnight so at least something to replenish the water butts and garden ponds. Missed out by only a few miles as my brother had plenty of action some 4 to 5 miles North of me. Well done to those with action and here's hoping another chance of Thunder fun and games comes along again soon.
