Lovely and warm this afternoon, albeit still on the breezy side. 19.0C so far with some high cloud around. If only it could last a little longer.

Just reached 20°C here, pleasant, hazily sunny and a nice breeze to dry the washing. :)

Surprisingly warm given the cold front has gone through, 20.3c with sunshine and Stratocumulus much as it has been all day. The front was extremely weak and barely noticeable except for the change in wind direction.

Not only did I not expect the brief spell of rain first thing this morning, I didn't expect it to surpass 20C either. Beautiful day since 11am with lengthy sunny spells and actually quite a warm wind.

Eyes on Thursday! I've noticed the models have been moving the heavier rain further and further south. At the moment, many areas south of the M4, particularly the southwest, could see an inch of rain, as well as parts of Wales.

Heavy rain and windy on yet another day that was forecasted to be dry, warm and calm a day or two ago.

Was woken up by the squally rain against the windows at about 6 this morning. Moved through very quickly though and has been sunny since 8. Now clear but feeling cool and windy.

A few spots of rain this morning, nothing major. I did think when I looked at the radar this morning "I don't remember seeing that on the TV" lol

Lovely now though, and 15C

A touch of frost this morning and chilly as I went out at 7:30. Beautiful now and a very light breeze. BBQ this evening, I reckon.

Just thought I'd post a few precip charts, showing the small differences between them. Although, they all agree that it will be very wet for many of us.

GFS:

post-15177-0-47798000-1431511217_thumb.ppost-15177-0-02163600-1431511282_thumb.ppost-15177-0-66050200-1431511291_thumb.ppost-15177-0-50249500-1431511299_thumb.p

NMM 4KM:

post-15177-0-19130400-1431511422_thumb.ppost-15177-0-42503700-1431511437_thumb.ppost-15177-0-31364100-1431511449_thumb.ppost-15177-0-87076600-1431511459_thumb.p

EURO 4:

post-15177-0-36807500-1431511546_thumb.gpost-15177-0-80974500-1431511561_thumb.gpost-15177-0-67373700-1431511571_thumb.gpost-15177-0-16479300-1431511582_thumb.gpost-15177-0-64924600-1431511590_thumb.g

I ran the the EURO 4 on an extra frame, as it shows some heavy showers breaking out in southern counties, behind the front- late afternoon. I'm not sure if that's related to a trough behind it, which shows up on the midday fax chart, in the far SW- in the channel. There is no 18:00 fax chart, so I'm not sure.

post-15177-0-52858500-1431511980_thumb.g

EURO 4 and NMM 4 rain totals, respectively:

post-15177-0-74966500-1431511934_thumb.gpost-15177-0-83320800-1431511947_thumb.p

The GFS shows lower totals, but I'll wait to the 12Z to check that, and compare them again.

As I mentioned the other day, the largest totals look to be roughly around the M4 and south of it. Generally, 15 to 25mm in many areas, slightly higher totals in some local spots by the end of Thursday.

I can hear the winter lovers bemoaning tomorrow's LOW coming in mid May!

Stunning day today, almost clear blue sky with scattered small Cumulus and Altocumulus patches with some Cirrus towards the SW horizon.

If only it were winter, a frosty sunny day today then a potential snow event for the M4-south for a change tomorrow.

At least it's a glorious day today.

Proverbial layer of Sc all day which does appear to be breaking at the moment. I personally wouldn't get too hung up on distribution and amounts of rainfall at the moment. The last fax for 06z that i've seen.

Bit disappointed by the radar, all the heavy stuff is staying out to the west, nothing I would call heavy here. It is rapidly developing though, vorticity aiding that substantially.

Very heavy now. 31mm/hr rain rate - 5.7mm in the last half hour.
