Negligible rain last night. Very blowy today and a good 10C cooler than what it was in London yesterday, but beautifully sunny.

Not a bad day out there, a lot less sun than of late, but still fairly warm at 15C, but with a keen southwesterly breeze.

Disappointingly cloudy this afternoon after a lovely clear morning but noticeably milder than yesterday with much softer air.

BBC hadn't got the forecast right, again. The MetO not much better either..

Luckily it is the opposite of rain.

Gorgeous inland, warm and sunny.  A different story closer to the coast.  These photos taken this afternoon on Eggardon Hill near Bridport.

So Met Office go for 12C in Portsmouth tomorrow, and the GFS going for 18C. Who will be right? GFS normally bang on for next day temperatures here, the Met Office undercook them time and time again. The local tourism trade must lose thousands of pounds over their poor temperature forecasts in the summer. Last Easter Monday a prime example where the nearest official temperature was 18C (probably nearer 20C in Pompey itself)

Lots of sea mist last night, burnt away fast this morning.

It is lovely and sunny in Poole, temp must be similar to my station at home, which is showing 13.7C

Low cloud and cool at 11C. Gonna need to shift this fast if we're going to get anywhere near the forecast high. It's going to be a one-day warm spell at this rate.

After yesterday's black out from the sea mist, which completely shrouded the 1000yds from the sea front - inland, today has started misty, which has burnt away.

Now the sea mist is returning as the temperatures rise inland, the swirls & curls of the mist are beginning to encroach the lower pleasure gardens in Bournemouth. Meanwhile on top of Richmond Hill the view is still sunny but the sea mist is looming...

I would love to know how much the temperature rose in Trowbridge between a dull/breezy 10.00 and a clear, calm and sunny 11.00!

Looks like my moaning paid off. Clear skies since midday, still a tad nippy in the breeze but the sun is lovely.

I've just given the moss a shorter cut. I almost had a hypo while doing it, the sun zapped me completely! Up to 18.4°C now- still a degree below my highest this year.

Results: Local station Solent didnt register as far as i know. Nearest station Thorney Island 15.3C, more exposed to the sea than here, though. My car said 20C as I went round my local area, 5 miles inland. Personal weather station 19C, never usually more than 1C different to the official temp and never more than 2C. Bournemouth is often comparable to here, they got to 18C. Based on all this, I'll estimate 17-18C for my location. As usual, GFS forecasts have trumped the appaling Met Office forecast as far as the temperature is concerned. Is anyone from the Met actually comparing forecasts vs actuals?? They get hundreds of millions of pounds a year, they bloomin well ought to be!!!
