Glorious though chilly/blustery morning with plenty of sunshine, cloudier now with Cirrus overriding Stratocumulus, still bright but also a few recent showers.

Having spent four hours riding up and down on a tractor mower I have to say, it's blinking cold today! Feels more like winter than spring around here, roll on some warmer days.

But you got to ride on a tractor mower. That's all that matters.

Lol. Trust me, the novelty wears off after years spent doing it, just makes you long for a flock of sheep and a reel of electric fence to shuffle them around. Rather have grey faced dartmoors than a john deere any day of the week!

As with Monday any patches of rain/showers which begin to move in from the W/NW are quickly dying out before reaching this far E/SE. I am at a loss to understand why this is happening, but instead of 3 days which could have had quite a lot of rain we have had some drizzle late Monday, a bone dry though extremely windy Monday night/Tuesday and a virtually dry Wednesday except for a few light showers.

An almost carbon copy of Monday though with half the wind strength. Bright and sunny morning which quickly clouded over with sporadic outbreaks of light rain throughout the afternoon which was followed by an hour of sprinkler drizzle. Now dry but windy still. It also didn't get above 10C here. To think that this time last year we were having an early plume event.

Yes I must admit it's been a very windy spell and despite forecasts to the contrary wind speeds have strengthened here over recent hours. It's felt really cold out today and though technically mild tonight it really does need that nagging wind to give us a break.

Cloudy with St and mist. Temp 9.6C and wind WNW 15mph

The METO are going for a dry (pretty much nailed down after Friday) and quite warm. Not sure it will be quite as warm on Monday as THE GFS is suggesting which is !7-19C.

This drizzle and short heavier bursts of rain seems to have got our name on today.  Started about half seven and is still at it.  Thoroughly miserable.

Sun trying to poke through the clouds, only 7.4c for now but soon to be much warmer, well at least we'll hopefully beat the highest Maximum of the year so far which was achieved on January 9th. Most likely take until Tuesday to do so but the only way is up, very much a dry signal until the 13th April bar some leftover remnants of drizzle in unluckier places today and tomorrow.

It's a bit grey and damp here, hopefully the sun will come out at some point over the weekend. Looking on the bright side....things could be a lot worse, 15 years ago today we had nigh on a foot of snow up on top of the mendips.

13°C yesterday and overcast yesterday, but didn't feel too bad.

Today, it's 11°C and cloudy with a few sunny spells, but it's horribly cold in that nagging wind.

It's turned mostly sunny this afternoon, max temp 13.4c. According to the forecast it should be overcast though.. in fact I can't remember when the forecast was not cloudy each day.. but then the forecasts seem to overdo cloud, and even when some sun is forecast they often show a cloudy symbol for the day e.g. this for last Tuesday

post-7593-0-03583800-1428166422_thumb.pn

No symbol during the daytime was 'cloudy' yet the summary smbol for the day was a cloudy symbol and you wouldn't know any sunshine was expected unless you clicked on the day to look in detail
