Fells could well see a fresh dusting of snow on Friday as colder air undercuts the straddling front. BBC forecasting Pennines to see snow on Friday and temps will be supressed some unlucky spots might only muster 4 or 5 degree max..

Weekend looking equally chilly with widespread maxima 5-7 degree range, not especially cold for mid March but not very springlike.

The weather for the next 24hrs would have been a classic winter set up four weeks ago

with the front spreading in from the west and stalling, with cold Easterly winds pushing the PPN back west

there would have been a lot of snow.

Alas tomorrow looks like a cold and wet day with temps around 6c,however snow is expected on Trans pennine

routes

Yes crap isn't it .....

Very frustrating, but these are the cards we have been dealt.

The models not showing any spring warmth at the moment, infact some models showing what we should expect

 in January.

Another miserable day except today it hasn't cleared to leave a nice evening! Just relentless rain from late morning... Looks like drying up after tomorrow with some sunshine on offer and cold nights for a time with air frosts possible, if you stay cloud free! Better than this wet muck.

...and yet even now at 8pm the rain is only just crawling past east of Manchester.... still bone-dry here at present but will probably cop it later tonight and into first part of tomorrow.

Looks like quite a prolonged period rain for most of the region tonight and into tomorrow. Indeed already Cumbria has had a lot, I'm surprised there are no warnings out re a risk of flooding?

humidity is low where the rain and has yet to arive ,so dew points can be low my temperature is almost the same as the dp so relative humidity is high ,must be a band of very dry air ahead of the front causing it !!!.

There is a feed of air from the continent ahead of the front so it will be quite dry from that direction.
